If you have the chance to go to oz go for it, youd be crazy not to. Here in ireland the country is * and the uk isnt far behind us. Oz is the place to be, theres loads work plus the climate is fantastic. Canada isnt to far away but it can get really cold in winter time, its suppose to be a different kind of coldness to here in ireland but it can get really bad

If you can get in to Australia that's meant to be good :50: If you've got family but its them you've got to think on first and foremost... if you've got virtually no ties: go for it mate why not :50:

Thanks for your thoughts lesso...the main thing putting me off OZ is it's so far away but then again id get over that...then in Canada its cold alri which is a disadvantage but it's not as far away...The uk's main advantage is it's easy to get home....I won't b making any rash decisions anyway

    Oz or Canada.

Take this into consideration though mate. I have three sets of family in Australia and one in New Zealand. Until this summer my cousin Eddie hadn't been back to Scotland in about 15 years. His sister hasn't been home in ten years. Don't think my uncle has been back in about 20 years (he has no excuse he's rich as *). And my other uncle in New Zealand, he's only been there for about three years but he couldn't come over when ma granny died.

So if you're close with your family and friends Oz is a HUGE step. For that reason I would pick Canada, I also have mates over there :) But for me it was Sweden or Canada. Sweden was closer and apart from lacking that North American crazy gene it's pretty similar. I've been here 5 months and been home twice.

Australia. The place is absolutely booming. I know a sparky who saved up 60k in the matter of weeks.

We also have the mines where you can earn 3k a week just for labouring, the sparks earn maybe 5-6k a week. Possibly more.

You would have absolutely no problem getting a job here.

Many other factors you have to take into consideration.

Wages: Are they comparable to what you currently earn?

Relocation expenses: Who pays to ship everything over to the UK or overseas?

Accomodation: What help is available and is it affordable?

Schools: If married what level of schooling is available and what opportunities are there for the family to do whilst you are at work? Consider schooling as the kids become older also.

Travel: How easy is it to get about from where you go? How much travel would be expected to get to and from work each day?

Climate: UK is pretty much the same as Ireland but Canada and Australia are very different.

Homesickness: Many who leave their native land can't settle and if things get to the stage where you or your family want to go home who pays the cost?

That's just a few things and I'm sure the guys who live in Australia can fill you in on the actual lifestyle over there.

Cork exactly which areas of UK, Canada and Oz are being offered?

You're single and to be honest if no family ties you would be foolish not to at least try your luck overseas. If nothing else save up and come back a rich Bhoy.

You mention the lack of experience with domestic appliances but training might be available from the company offering the relocation. You really have to get as much information as you can about everything from each country and then weigh up the pros and cons of each location.

Can't remember the figure but the amount of Irish leaving for Australia each week is mind blowing.

An Irish couple have actually just moved in next door to us. Crazy amount of Irish, Scottish and English here.
