We should actually sell him to a Hibs or Aberdeen with a buy-back clause, same as a lot of teams do like Real and Barca do it all the time, guys maybe not good enough for them but possibly good enough as back-up in future they tend to sell and then sign back if they turn out good enough.

Think selling them so getting them out the club then shows if they have the bottle to make it as ties have been cut and now they need to perform every week without the option of coming back to the big club and being loaned out again.

He'll probably never be starting quality for us but he might turn out a good SPFL left back like a Barry Douglas type once he has 100-150 games under his belt and could come back in at 22/23/24 as a squad player.

What's he got on his contract, you know?

I don't think he'll ever be a left back. Decent pace and ok going forward, is too easily beaten overall for me 1 on 1 and positionally..

I wouldn't mind doing that though if he shows enough. Tough gig at the bottom side to be fair..

He'll probably sign for them then....unless someone like a sheep or Hibs come in, which isn't out the question to be fair as they both need left sided player's and he's probably more their level..

Thought he was decent today and he still as plenty of development in him. Will be interesting to see what he’s like at 25 but he will be do that development elsewhere..

He's only really played there a short time though, has a decent left foot, composure on the ball and a good engine and pace. Probably not even played 20 real games in his career yet so hard to tell if he'll be good when he's 22/23/24 or whatever.

To me he's decent enough the now, some young players are either weak, soft, unfit, poor technically, dont look like they have the right mentality, are brainless etc like Ralston you'd say doesnt have the technique, Johnston is soft and weak, Henderson was weak also and slow and even still at 21 built like a toothpick. You'd worry about all them making it or becoming decent players as they have problems they need to fix. Miller actually has a decent allround game just now and you'd imagine at worst with have a good career in our top League, maybe even end up in the English Championship or EPL as if you look at him in comparison to guys like Ross Wallace, Craig Forsyth, Barry Douglas and guys like that who have all established themselves in the Championship down there he seems a better player than them at his age with more natural ability and probably even a better engine and pace and strength than them.

I remember him all the way from his victory shield day's mate. Stood out massively as a striker then..

Was decent today. Probably isn't a left back, and isn't as creative enough as a left winger so it's finding him a position that he excels, or what 1 of those..

Looks a bit bigger anyway. Sure he's on some kinda program..

They probably wouldn't play him though as 2 of their most experienced players are their left-backs possibly even captains I think are Considine and Stevenson their captains?

We'd probably need to sell him to one of them so he is their player and they'd have interest in developing him to sell him. If we are loaning him out it should be to play every week, could get games at Kilmarnock or Motherwell even Hearts but their fans likely wouldnt accept a loanee from us.

Aye Kille next under Clarke could be a shout or even staying where he is, if they continue their improvement under McIntyre.

Crazy how a lot of our support continue to write off young players even after guys like Christie proven otherwise. He just needs game time

Christie can’t be the guy people point to now for young players who you clearly don’t think will make it.

He’s a massive exception to the rule, up to now, because his level has shot up tenfold what feels like overnight. It isn’t normal.

Just the first example that came to mind. Point is we can’t judge young players without a proper run in the team. Some catch on later than others

Aye but I was going through the Mcgregor thread circa 2014 earlier on, also done the Forrest thread not too long ago. A lot of people tend to not understand player development.

Will Miller go on to do it? Chances are no. Just let the * get on with it though.
