He is worth so much more than that to us. He would be extremely difficult to replace.

Such a versatile player that can play a number of positions and most importantly he can play them all well.

It’s very likely to be a load of bollocks with coming from the s*n but we all know there will be interest in players like McGregor and Edouard. We can’t lose both at the same season though. Edouard will move onto bigger things but I hope we try our best to convince him to stay for one more season.

I would like to think McGregor would be a one club man but I think he will want to test himself elsewhere eventually. When that will be I don’t know. Would like to think he would stay for the chance of 10 since he has played a massive part in our journey so far. Sure I have read comments from him regarding the Premier League which suggests to me he wants to try it.

    Hope not.

Hes one player I wouldnt want to entertain any bids for. Would like to think he will stay but after Tierney I'm honestly not sure.

25 mill I don’t even see as a decent bid in today’s market

My thoughts exactly. Out of the two I think most would have said Tierney would be more likely to be the one club man or the one that would stay longer term.

That’s nothing on McGregor though it’s just the way I seen it at the time.

When Brown does retire he is going to be the likely candidate for taking over captaincy as well which I hope would encourage him to stay for longer.

Depends on how you're judging 'best' really.

If it's on an individual piece of skill or brilliance then probably not.

If it's on importance to the team then I think there's an argument to be made for McGregor. For a start he is never injured and an absolute mainstay in the team for us for the last 4 years. He's versatile, equally capable in the '8' or the '10' and can also play LW or LB. LW v Zenit at home he bagged the winning goal. LB at Ibrox he was our best player on the park.

He's also probably our most composed player when jumping up in quality to Europe, aside from a poor miss v Gladbach in 16/17 he's never really let us down there as goals v Bayern Munich, Ajax, Zenit, Legia and Maribor will attest.

I am honestly astonished that more clubs haven't tested our resolve re McGregor. He is a gem of a player.

I don't think it was publicly reported but I heard from a decent source.

He signed a contract extension last year (til summer 2024) apparently being made best paid player or one of so would not be shocked by this amount.
I hope he stays, he is a big part of the squad, a guy who obviously loves it here. If he does leave he does so with my best wishes.

I'm not disputing any of that. He is one of our better players but I wouldn't say he was the best.

Splitting hairs though. Should stay here for his career.

To steal a Tommy Burns quote:

"He's there and he's always there"

    Outstanding performance.

Proved today why he's the natural replacement for Brown when he retires, we should do everything possible to make sure McGregor is a Celt for life.

If he's ever sold, it shouldn't be for a penny under 40 mil.

He's staying for 10, it will have been discussed when he signed the new deal. He's too big a player for us to lose going into the 10, we're never finding a player as cultured and who knows us as well.

I'm kinda hoping we only lose Eddy who will probably leave though it would be great if we kept him. I would settle for using the Eddy money to keep Fraser though cause he wants to play for us. Would be such a confidence boost if we kept him and only lost Eddy.

Another example of why he's worth way more than 25m, absolutely ran the game today. Should never have been booked either.

Thought he was different class today. When we went a goal down he was the one who demanded the ball and showed the urgency and class to dictate play and make things happen. Fantastic player.

I doubt McGregor even wants the move yet, another season or 2 then he may want to go down South. £25M is an insult, he has everything in his game and is only getting better, I swear he's actually gotten faster the last few years he's * rapid on and off the ball.

Got to really try and make a go of getting back in to the champions league next season..

Isn't only a factor in attracting player's but also keeping our best from wanting away..
