The just got out of jail, guy a wee bit offside but it could have been 1-1, they should have had this game wrapped up with a 3 or 4 goal cushion, no wonder they have drew allsorts of games the chances they missed.

Also should have been a Dortmund corner at the other end and full time.

    * Leipzig. They deserve nothing.

Red bull with a goal chalked off for offside in the dying seconds and going mental at the linesman Haha. Was just offside, Imo, so correct decision. Love seeing the dortmund standing section, incredible sight

Borussia Dortmund have said they deeply regret attacks against RB Leipzig supporters, including women and children, before the sides’ Bundesliga game on Saturday.

Dortmund police filed 28 charges for breaches of the law concerning explosives, assault, dangerous bodily injury, damage to property and theft after Leipzig supporters were pelted with stones and cans by Dortmund fans as they approached the stadium. Four police officers and a police dog were injured, the police said in a statement

“Dortmund strongly condemns this violence,” the club said in a statement on its website on Sunday.

Dortmund police said they were forced to use batons and pepper spray to prevent the situation from escalating. They said: “All in all, extreme aggression and readiness for violence could be established among the Dortmund fans against the visitors. This was directed against any person who could be identified as a Leipzig fan, regardless of whether they were small children, women or families.”

Dortmund said they were working with police to deal with the incidents, and it wished injured Leipzig fans a speedy recovery.

They're actually right were they belong thanks to their performance so far this season.
This game was also something their manager(Weinzierl) is pretty good at.
Defend, work hard and play on the counter attack. That's what he did with Augsburg and had quite some success with.

Though, implementing a style that can create something against well organized teams is something he hasn't been able to do.

They brought over quite a few guys they had parked at their farm team called Red Bull Salzburg.

Leipzig overall is just giving a big middle finger to the 50+1 rule in german football and have quite some advantage(thanks to that) over "normal" clubs in Germany.
Though, corprate money is something that's in German football for some time, having started with Bayer Leverkusen over 30 years ago and includes teams like Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim and Ingolstadt, while Schalke's living and dying by Gazprom or Hamburg totally relying on an 80 year old billionaire who's throwing them money.

No, they took over a club just outside of Leipzig called Markranstadt, while also taking over the youth academy of Chemie(Chemistry) Leipzig to sort out that part required to play at the top levels of german football.

Lok Leipzig is playing in the 4th division, while Chemie's playing even lower, and won't go anywhere thanks to their financial ineptitude and the fact that there isn't a lot of money(sponsors) in the eastern part of Germany.
Oh, and on top of that both sets of fans are incredibly dumb and always fight eachother, no matter where that might be.
Because of that, no somewhat intelligent person wants to go to their games in fear of being attacked for whatever reason.

BTW: I'm pretty happy we were able to beat Freiburg and able to get some seperation from those relegation spots.
That should give the team some more confidence and breathing room with those games in the cup and europa league coming up.

Pretty galling seeing fans of Germany's first and only club to be listed on the stock market, part-owned by chemical giant Evonik, taking haughty pot shots over corporatisation and making light of Ralf Rangnick's struggles with depression via a banner advocating suicide... all at the Signal Iduna Park, no less.

The Red Bull thing is just more obvious than other corporate involvement. A few years ago Werder had agreed a sponsorship deal with Citroen that was vetoed by Volkswagen who own a chunk of the Bremen membership. They ended up sponsored by a local schnitzel company for a fraction of the money. Can't remember if that was the year they sold Naldo to Wolfsburg which would make it worse

Philip Lahm has announced he is retiring at the end of the season, despite having a year left of his contract. What a player he has been

That's a shame. He's been one of my favourite players over the years.

One of the the most consistent footballers on the planet.

Guardiola says he was the best footballer he's ever coached, not best player but best footballer.

Do Leipzig really generate enough sales to justify the cost of a football team? They do seem to have a good attitude to signings though with the average age of the team being 23, the focus on youth is good long term and quite a difficult trick to pull off in the first season in the Bundesliga.

Also sounds good for the area in East Germany that doesn't have much in the way of football teams.

Amazing how unpopular they are. I've never heard of Dortmund fans being nasty before but that game sounded full of venom.

Do Leipzig have a derby? I guess it'll be every game in the Bundesliga :giggle1: Gladbach are doing well with a new manager? Might be a tough game for Leipzig.

Looks like it could be some battle for 3rd and 4th spots. All the other top teams should be expecting to win.

Hope Frieburg win. I don't really follow the Bundesliga but I would prefer Hamburg to go down rather than Bremen.

Massive game for St Pauli tomorrow.

HSV have too good a squad to go down on paper, they've been slowly getting better results wise as well.

The next highest club based in Leipzig are down in the Regionalliga Nordost.
