It's easy to ruin a good product with the commentary and presenters,

Sooner VAR is implemented here the better.

BT’s referees did give the decision correctly though mate.

Sky can’t even get which squad of ours won the league cup right, they had pictures of Paddy Roberts celebrating it on Monday :56:

    What decision Dev?

I'm only taking the * about Sky mate. BT should not have Hun TV commentators doing our game's though. You can hear his lulls and silences when we score and are winning and the high pitch voice when we're no. Last night was a step too far though screaming Yesssssssssssssss when they equalised..

VAR would be useless in Scotland with the anonymous refs that would be implementing it probably just as * and corrupt as the ones on the park.

Doubtful anyone would try and deny, for example, Wednesdays goal nor Meekings handball when the whole country is looking at it at the time. I just don't get anyone against this as we seen in the WC it was a success.

I'm not against VAR I just don't trust the SFA and Scottish refs to be able to do anything right and I honestly wouldn't put it passed them to make bad decisions even with VAR, the Meekings one was the most blatant decision I've ever seen and there were 4 officials looking at it that day and every one of them ignored it.

It will force the issue and offers the potential to allow the correct decision to be made, no ref can continually not use it/ignore it if it's available and that is what we need/want -
Currently with no VAR - It happens in real time allowing for the "I can only make a decision based on one look" excuse
Under VAR - Can have numerous views/looks, while being watched at the touchline, so the pressure is greater to call it correctly otherwise it looks even more blatant.
Could they still cheat/give wrong calls yes but it would be so much more obvious/harder to do so, that alone tells me it will reduce the number of incorrect decisions.

The sooner its implemented the more correct decisions we benefit from irs as simple as that mate.

We'll see but tbh I don't see them forking out for VAR any time soon we don't even have goal line technology yet

Seemingly that's more expensive to install. Surprised me that. If it was my choice I would go with VAR, as it would help in more instances. Off the top of my head I can only think of that goal at motherwell, that was about 2 foot over the line that was ruled out, think it was Mjallby who scored it game ended 3-3 or 2-2 I think.

" More viable is the notion that Scottish referees will one day be able to use VAR during matches, with the Scottish FA part of the discussions at International FA Board (IFAB) level regarding the implementation of the technology across the sport. VAR is, of course, can be used for much more than just goal line decisions, adding another layer of complexity, but in terms of cost, it would be far cheaper than anything designed purely to determine whether the ball has crossed the line. That could be the future for the Scottish game."

    From last Dec -

    https://www.thetwopointone.com/how-much-would-goal-line-technology-actually-cost-the-spfl/

From the article above the main cost is borne by the league, although that would just see the Clubs get less money I imagine. So in a roundabout way they do foot the bill but I reckon it would be worth it. * I wouldn't even be dead against US footing the initial bill tbh, such is the benefit this would have for us over the coming years.
