Exactly how big felt watching tonight. Perhaps he seen a opportunity to try something different. Bar the unlucky sending off we would have given valenica a real fright as a minimum. The reality is we probably still left ourselves far too much to do, but who is to know. Was a great opening 30-35 minutes

Couldn't of done anymore tonight really..

Sometimes forget that he's a young coach and is still learning a lot himself..

Played them once, worked out what went wrong and fixed it using the same squad of players.

Truth be told over 2 legs we were a couple mistakes and a shocking refereeing performance off them.

We made Valencia look good at home and very bad for 35 minutes away. The crowd were getting extremely restless up until the sending off.

Fairly shut up the few nay-sayers he has. One of the best European performances I can remember in the last 10 years. Shame how it turned out but Brendan got it spot on tonight.

Can’t get too carried away with a 3-0 aggregate defeat.

It's bemusing the fact we seem to be taking so many positives out a tie we never even scored in. A positive in Europe is a result, not nice play for half an hour as that amounts to absolutely * all.

Damage was done before but something changed here and the change brought us closer to wot is needed ,most only wanted a better performance and that was delivered , its also shown that we can compete at a high level away from home ,scoreline reflecting the circumstances tonight is not a major disapointment, wot is is ,it would have been nice to see how the game would have went if we kept 11 ,no saying we woulda won outright but may have got a draw or narrow win .

Overall i'm pretty chuffed the way we've performed over there and think it should give us a boost going forward. However, i won't get too carried away.

I mean, we can say that we really lost this to a large extent at home, but let's not kid ourselves on here!!

Yes we were excellent for the first 35 minutes tonight but the game did not start at 0-0. They were 2-0 up and for me you've got to account for that when you talk about their level of intensity at the start of the game. Yeah, their fans might have been a bit * but they were still in a healthy postion. Still pleased the way we performed for over 50 minutes though and thought they can all hold their heads high!!

You thought the tie was done after the first half hour tonight?

    I certainly didn’t.

    Man City home
    Man City away
Barcelona home - We actually gave them a really good game
    Gladbach away
    Bayern Munich home
    Anderlecht away
    Zenit home
    Leipzig home
    Valencia away

There has been a lot of * games as well, granted. But I think in all of these games we performed very well which shows that Rodgers’ style can work against good quality teams in Europe. Just need a bit of Lady Luck in terms of our draws next year.

But this is the problem, a wee change to how we set up made us much more compact and didn't take anything away from possession play or attacking ,it was only backs to the wall for about 15 mins of being down to 10,we coped well and looked like the home team for a lot of the game ,A few changes up front and am sure we woulda scored without the sending off .

Knew the tie was dead after the home leg 100%

We were never scoring 3, as they were always going to score at least one. The sending off changed the game definitely.. but they allowed us to play with the comfort of that cushion.

There were positives in the performance and tactics from BR, no doubt...but it doesn’t make up for a woeful 1st leg that ended our campaign.

I actually think we were handed as close to a free pass as you'll likely to get for the CL groups this year but that's another story. We have to aim high but in reality for me at the moment we are a last 32 Europa level team. So it's been a fair campaign..no better no worse!!

We move on to get that treble treble!!

Yup, i was more confident after 35 mins tonight than i was before it started. I'm an optimistic, like most of us i would imagine, but you've surely got to also account for where the overall tie was sitting at 35 mins in!!

i.e. they played and upped it when they needed to over both legs. Still doesn't detract that i'm a lot more pleased tonight than i was a week ago.

    This land is your land.

I love what you did with zippy, bungle and George but it's so sad to see a man of your calibre stoop to such low depths.

Tonight we improved. OK the overall result wasn't great but the step up in performance was a very real positive.

Get behind your club buddy. We are where we are. It wasn't that many decades ago that we taught Europe how to play football.

Peace & love to you Jeffrey.
