Something keeps putting me off this book for some reason and I can't put a finger on it...but I really want to read it before Denis Villeneuve's movie comes out next year.

This was very good. A true story of a guy from the Polish Resitance. The Resistance wanted to know more about what was happening in Auschwitz so they basically set up his arrest so he could get into Auschwitz and create a Resistance movement inside the camp and let the world know what was happening.

Honestly, the amount of times I've stood in Waterstone's with the book in my hand only to out it back is ridiculous.

Probably make that my October book as ive got a few things to read this and next month.

I think if you do make it to the register next time and buy it you will not regret it at all. Really enjoyed it and easy to see why it has such a great reputation.

Good coincidence that the next Millennium book came out on the day I'm away on holiday. Pool side reading sorted!

Just started Bandit Country by Toby Harnden.

Not sure how it's going to go but it promises an unbiased look at the Troubles and South Armagh in particular.

Will reserve judgement for the time being.

    Edit.

The strapline for the book and the Authors past credentials don't fill me with hope for this book

Aye I'll give it a read mate. Apparently though the book led to the reopening of many IRA cases and the Author was the Irish correspondent for the Daily Torygraph.

Always good to get a flavour of the other side if nothing else.

Finished the wee gem on holiday - just one of those books you take a chance on when you're initially not convinced it'll be all that great. If you liked Firefly (TV series) there's a strong chance this will be for you.

The story follows a small crew whose job it is to make black holes through the universe to allow travel between systems. Usual space pirate stuff arises off the back of the crew winning a massive contract. I get I might not be selling this well but its worth picking up - a very easy reader. 4/5
