Just started 'Feral' by George Monbiot.

Reading it to help with my dissertation on the concept of 'Rewilding' and how it could be implemented in Scotland. Read the first couple chapters and really enjoying it, even going to try and get in touch with him see if he will answer some questions via e-mail that I could use.

Finished Dennis Lehane's Moonlight Mile. It was a pretty good light read.

I just meant it was funny you should say that as I had just that day finished reading a book about another young footballer from the North in Adrian Doherty. Was a fascinating but tragic read. In terms of the poetry one of the themes of the book was whether Adrian was more drawn towards his writing and music than he was to playing football and unless I have got you mixed up with someone else you write yourself :50:

Will let you know later mate when I get home. I am quite far in and I can’t actually remember how it started :giggle1:

It was pretty quick into talking about him getting the job. How he felt and how his family felt about him getting to manage the club he always loved. Also the achievement of winning the treble was mentioned really early.

Fair play getting into the lord of the rings books. They are some size!

Bought the revenant tonight, will get into it tomorrow and try and get it done and dusted before payday/end of the month. Really enjoyed the film and the book has had good reviews so looking forward to it.

Revenant is good so far and would recommend it. Also managed to pick up The Martian and The Green Mile in the hmv 2 for £5, few good books in that worth checking out.

Currently reading through a little surprise find. Just discovered Tom Hanks wrote his first book, or a collection of short stories rather. I'm only 4 'stories' in but I think it's fair to say the guys multi-talented.

Story 2 has stuck with me in particular called 'Christmas Eve, 1953'.
Its about two guys who perform a yearly ritual in terms of calling each other on Christmas eve to catch up. So far that's not particularly exciting right? Turns out the guys relationship is that they are veterans of wwII together, from the same company. The phone call stops and goes to a flashback of sorts to Bastogne. Considering I just finished watching Band of Brothers for about the 4th time since it was released (Bastogne was a major episode in the series - which Tom Hanks produced) it was a nice surprise. I won't spoil the rest of the story for anyone who fancies reading it but so far so good.

Finished Naomi Klein's excellent No Logo. A brilliant critique of the increasing influence and power of major transnational corporations and the issues that brings up. I highly recommend this one a superb book.
