You're Thomas Hobbe's 'Leviathan,' Nietzsche's 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' and Darwin's 'On the Origin of Species' away from reading the core inspiration of Fascism's political philosophy.

Funnily enough, Leviathan is on my extended reading list, and would like to get around to On the Origin of Species. I find Nietzsche's doctrine on nihilism fascinating. Not an essential read for me at the moment, but like Darwin, would like to get around to him.

Just finished The Girl who Kicked The Hornets Nest. What an amazing trilogy that was, and a fitting ending.

Middle finger to The Section! And finally some redemption for Salander and Millennium.

Finished 1916 The Mornings After by Tim Pat Coogan. A brilliant look at Ireland in the 100 years after the rising and how the ideals of those brave people who paved the way for independence have been ignored in unscrupulous and shameful fashion to a large extent by those in power be it in government, the church etc

Should probably say, the majority of books I "read" are actually Audiobooks from Audible. Can never find time to read at home so I have the Audiobooks for commuting.

    Anyone else use these?

Thats it man. Gives a wee break from listening to the same songs over and over as well.

The downside with the Audiobooks is that you're humped if you don't like the narrator. So far I've not had an issue with a narrator after 10/12 books so far.

Started The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown last night. Starts off at a good pace - hope it keeps up!

Finished Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers which is a really interesting look at what makes certain people more successful.

Took a break from The Republic and decided to give this a bash:

Great read. Not too complicated regarding plot, but an amazing piece of political satire.

Finished Darwin's Radio by Greg Bear. Interesting concept the idea of evolutionary biology that is in the book although nowhere near as good as his other books I have read.

Been reading Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel recently. The story so far is pretty gripping so no complaints there. My issue is that the book reads as an investigation. The book is literally a series of interview from an unknown man and various members of the US Army, scientists and doctors into an investigation of finding a robotic weapon with body parts found scattered over the world.

Really interesting book, not convinced over the presentation in how the story is told. Shame considering it was billed as the next 'The Martian'.

Eban Alexanders 'proof of heaven' and 'map of heaven'.
Proof of heaven is a great read and may help some people understand something they are dubious about.
