I got the "Fidel Castro Handbook" by Geroge Galloway, and the "Ragged trousered Philantrhopist" for my birthday. I'm off on holiday in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to hold off reading them until I go.

Read a few on holiday just there -

The Woman Who Walked into Doors - Roddy Doyle - fantastic read

I, Lucifer - Glen Duncan - a really interesting premise and written quite well

Brave New World - provides an alternative dystopia to Orwell's 1984, and quite a prescient one by the looks of things

A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil - Christopher Brookmyre - Really funny book, and the way he writes the parts of the book set in school is perfect. Had a lot of funny flashbacks whilst reading this.

'An Evil Cradling' by Brian Keenan.

Now one of my favourite books. It's the true, personal, account of his abduction and the several years following it in Lebanon.

A very dark and claustrophobic book, very well written and whilst it's an old cliché, it does really make you feel like you are there.

I recommend it to anyone, I'd say it has a pretty wide appeal, honestly you won't regret it.

    Just finished Brock Lesnar's book.

I love the guy but * me what a blatant money spinner, read it in 4 hours and got nothing ground breaking from it at all.

You should read Forrest Griffins book "Got Fight". Very well written and witty book. Lots of humour, hard work and self deprecation.

Just finished reading two books on the Six Day War, currently reading A New Shoah by Giuluo Meotti, I've also just bought a book on the history of Israel and I've ordered a book called Palestine Betrayed.

Very interesting subject to learn more about from a variety of perspectives.

Apparently it is pretty awful, even aside from content, it's really badly written.

Recently bought a few books to take on holiday :icon_mrgreen:

Ed Moloney- A Secret History of the IRA

About 100 pages in, very good so far. A lot of information, interesting interviews and its very well written. I felt obliged to educate myself on the subject since its still very topical.

    Khaled Hosseini- The Kite Runner

Haven't seen the film, and only heard good stuff about the book.

Marcus Chown- The Never Ending Days Of Being Dead

A book, with a light hearted feel, about the fundamental questions regarding the Big Bang, the universe etc.

Thinking of getting Big John Hartson's book. Anyone read it? Worth it?

Reading 'Vellum' by Hal Duncan. It's interesting. Author is from the West of Glasgow, as well.
