Bolton Wanderers have joined Bury FC in facing the risk of EFL expulsion, with the two clubs issued with a 5pm deadline on Tuesday (August 27).....cheezo wasnt that long ago, 2012, that Bolton were an EPL side

Play a league with 2 teams less, Bolton and Bury can apply for membership of nearest bottom pyramid league, at seasons end, 4 league 2 teams get automatic promotion, and these 4 div 2 places are filled by appropriate pyramid clubs

Playing ‘billy big baws’ Like a load of clubs in England... massive transfer fees and equally massive player wages putting them and s lot of other clubs on the brink!

    There’ll be more....

Buying players they can’t afford and paying wages they can’t sustain.... crazy!

Lucky that You wouldn’t get anything like that happening in Scottish football.

They overspent for a good few years. Actually had a good team and some decent league finishes and Cup runs but ultimately they put Owen coyle at the wheel.

It's very harsh as always like Bolton but only theirselves to blame for this.

Too much money spent they did not have and there are alot of teams in England that are close to this.

    Money running football.

“There's something wrong in British football where these clubs with so much history and local connection are struggling at the same time the Premier League is absolutely booming," Bolton North East MP David Crausby told BBC Radio Manchester.

"We've really got to put it right in the interest of the fans, not just for some individual who picks it up to make a profit on it.

"We've got to be absolutely determined to defend this football institution. It can't be allowed to fail and disappear."

    ——————————-

But you’re all desperate to be in the EPL and it’s riches.... money is to blame but you will overstretch yourselves to try to be part of it and happily take the money when the goings good!

    I,d say PL is livid.

Held out for a couple of months and he could have saved 350k on Connell.

The finances of the clubs in the premier league aren't exactly great either.

Many have large debts or rich owners holding things together with plenty of cheating the figures too.

The Begbies Traynor annual football distress report shows six clubs (8%) across the Championship and Leagues One and Two are currently showing signs of serious financial trouble with late payment of players’ wages becoming a regular feature of the season.

Same could be said for barcelona. Mental amount of turnover is on wages and still paying £100's of millions a year transfer fees.

Aye but these clubs can finance their debts ( interest payments on debts underwritten by assets )
