Yeah thats the one, blew my mind when i ended up at the clinic lol. The rifle spear is great especially for its range but im thinking of getting the ludwig sword for a second weapon instead of the axe im currently using.

I'll give it a proper go again tomorrow. I've gotten nowhere in it so far. Still couldn't even reach the first boss. The two dogs on that bridge * got me.

I was like that mate and I was a bawhair away from selling it....so glad I didn't and stuck with it....

    tips:

if there are 2 enemies, hold back and throw a pebble at one...he will come too get you alone.

always dodge left and right, watch your enemies movement....take your time.

on a boss, depending on what one...watch his movements close and dive forward to get behind him and then attack...usually charging r2,then quick r1.

    ...

the game is very difficult and steep learning curve but its worth it....ive never played a game like this, but enjoying it.

im only on third boss atm....they are brutal tbh.

another tip for first boss on level 1.....get the small music box from the little girl in the window next to the red lantern, during the boss battle, play the music box...it stuns him and you can get behind him and attack

    SOME SLIGHT SPOILERS ALERT*****
Thats's actually the second boss you are talking about there. The first one is on the big bridge called the Cleric demon (Who is much easier than the 2nd - Father Gascoine). As soon as you meet this boss you could use a bold hunters mark to warp back to your lamp, as soon as you meet a boss you get "madman's insight" (also picked up around the world) and you can level up-the doll in the dream world will now appear as a living woman and if you speak to her she will allow you to level up your stats. You can grind a bit on low level enemies and use the blood echoes to level your character up. There is a good armour set you can get easily close to the start also-

I posted the vid on youtube to show my mate where it was(I point to a corpse at the end that the armour is on) I am wearing it in the vid.

Watching some DarkSouls and Bloodborne experts on youtube also might help, maybe a beginners guide or two to set you off and explain things. Sometimes certain games just don't fit with people and the Dark Souls/Demon Souls/Bloodborne games are punishingly hard for casual players and a lot of people don't enjoy the difficulty.

I watched this guy for all his lore vids on the first Dark Souls game and he does a good job- He also does helper vids and that so you could have a look at him

Beat rom and martyr logarius over the weekend, both were pretty difficult i thought especially logarius, Nearing the end now i think sadly, fecking amazing game imo. Its up there with the original dark souls for me, far better than dark souls 2.

Finally beat the game over the weekend, clocked in at 51 hours thats including all optional/secret areas and bosses too. Loved every second of it although it wasnt as difficult as i thought it would be, similar to dark souls 2 in terms of difficulty imo. I'll probably leave it a while before i start NG+, hopefully some dlc will be announced by then.

Tempted to get this. Got a couple of questions though.

Is the open world big with side quests? Is there any 'safe' areas with just normal NPC's?

From the little gameplay I've seen, it's quite a complicated looking map with an enemy around every corner.

Bought it, hated it. Gave it a chance, quite liked it then quickly got fed up of it. Difficulty is too unforgiving to a newcomer to that type of game and it's a grind to level your character up. Typical JRPG that doesn't appeal to Western gamers at all

It's hard to judge (there are bosses/places that are optional) but you are over halfway... I think.

kind of late to the party on this, it's a * nightmare - finding it really difficult, managed to get past the first street full of huns burning a big dug. got to the top of the stairs at the bridge and got tanned by a couple of wolves or something, stuck at this bit. help!
