    New trailer.

Looks * incredible. Villeneveu, Dawkins, Johannson, Gosling, Leto. Can't see this being anything other than great.

Looking at the reviews... canny believe some people were actually doubting Villeneuve.

    Best director working today.

Thought Harrison Ford was brilliant on the Graham Norton show the other night.

Went to IMax to see it in 3D-Wow...just...wow.
Visually stunning, incredible soundtrack (Though it's no Vangelis) and a great story.
My only(minor)complaint is that I would say it's about 20-30mins too long.
    Other than that..aye :)

Pretty crap film. Almost every scene could have been half the length and nothing would have been lost, pretty poor story, poor acting and characters and quite clearly setting up for another sequel. After I left the cinema, I saw that the same guy who made Arrival made this one and it all suddenly made sense.

Out of curiosity, are you looking forward to the new Star Wars toy trailer movie and any of the new comic book movies?

    No.

A display of the 'false dilemma' fallacy is a sign of a lazy mind.

In fairness, I never rewatched the first one before I went to see it and also went straight from work and was struggling to stay awake during it but I didn't really enjoy it and thought it was too long.
Maybe watch both of them back to back once the DVD is out or I get a good illegal stream online.
Appreciated some of the visuals and soundtrack though.

Just curious as the people I have seen online who did not enjoy the movie are the same ones that are gushing at the sight of a "porg" in the new Star Toys movie trailer, who then go on to speak for about 30 minutes on all of their FunkoPop toys **shudders** and complain that the character Snoke is * because his toys don't sell well :giggle1: Star Wars literally is just a trailer for new toys for grown men and woman who can't handle the fact they are in their mid 30s and balding (or drying up if you are a female).

Blade Runner isn't for everyone, I didn't enjoy Arrival either (another movie that was just lazy science fiction).

You are entitled to your opinion but I think it is a little harsh, hence why I was curious as to what your opinions are on Comic book nonsense which for some obscure reason passes as credible science fiction to a lot of people these days.

It's like modern audiences can't handle a movie where there may be long drawn out scenes, which a lot of people don't enjoy but I do, I even like long wordy books that seem to put a lot of people off who just want instant gratification.

I have a feeling that if Blade Runner had lots of laser guns and laser swords and and lots of boom crash, kapow, whoosh, and cute furry CGI animals etc etc it would be a box office hit and there would be toys and sequels and prequels and spin offs and expanded universes and all that garbage.

    I am glad we agree.

I agree with your observation about modern audiences too, but just because a film has long scenes doesn't mean it is more intellectual or sophisticated than one that is pithy and to the point. Blade Runner is just a bad film, the length of the scenes wouldn't be an issue if there was something more to fill them than there turned out to be.
