I remember being about 15 when that happened, and I told my brothers they should sub him off at half time, needless to say they ripped into me upon hearing the final score on the radio later :giggle1:

Marshall at the Nou Camp was unbelievable.

Sutton was unreal that game and against Stuttgart.

A lot of guys my age did aswell I just never got the hype. Maybe because i expected more but I always loved Bobby Petta and after him McGeady so 2 players in his position might be something to do with it. It was like Paul Lambert I always rated Lennon better and never took to him. Although I do believe he could have continued as a first team player and sorted issues for us at Left Back.

Forrest v Bayern. Might be the drink altering my memory but I seem to remember him tearing them a new one in that game

I think it was more I was a fan of Lennon and his passion was about 8/9 watching them and I preferred Lennon was just something about him. Now I like Lennon as a man better than Lambert I just find Lambert so boring. It's like Broony no matter how many better players we have than him he's my favourite next will be Tierney. I think as a child I was looking for players with the same passion I had

Fair play, man. I much prefer Lennon to Lambert as a person, too. Always rated Lambert as a significantly better footballer, however.

Maybe not the best ever but Lubo’s debut against the huns in the 5-1 game was impressive. Scored 2 and tore them to shreds.
I remember seeing his name on the team sheet as well and thinking ffs, what’s this old guy I’ve never heard of going to do in a game like this.

I have always been honest about prefering Lennon actually think I mentioned somewhere on here my preference for Lennon the players who stuck out for me during the earliest Celtic memories I have are Mjallby Bobo Lennon Agathe Petta Petrov Hartson Sutton and Larsson I can remember Lubo but must have been during his last few games for us. Everyone else were just kind of there I remember thinking Broto and Hedman were better than Douglas. Valgareen for some reason seemed decent can't remember any great games he had but loads of good games. Jackie McNamara must have been at the end of his time with us as I can't remember him actually playing for us. Weirdly I can remember Tom Boyd was one of our worse defenders probably because he was on verge of retirement. Like Tom Boyd now I seen older games

One that most won't remember is Sammy vs Elfsborg at home they couldn't live with him at all, they just took turns fouling . There's probably about 50 Larsson and Johnstone performances as well but they made it look easy. :56: The footage of Johnstone against Real Madrid is unbelievable they looked scared to go anywhere for fear of being ripped to pieces.

    Edit:Bobby Petta against the huns.

    Edit edit:Lubo vs the huns

Sutton when he had to play in defence at Ibrox, he was * outstanding that day as we went on to win 1-0.
