Some of the lists you get online are dreadful, it's mostly always people in more popular bands that get classed as the best.

Same with Drummers ect, the amount of times I have seen lists with Travis Barker further up than Neil Peart is ridiculous.

In my total unbiased opinion :icon_mrgreen: it has to be David Gilmour.

    Absolute master and instantly recognisable.

    Great shout.

Gilmour was/is a genius though, made his guitar sing at times.

Gilmour and Hendrix didn't have a patch on Rory Gallagher or even Gary Moore

it all depends on the style of music for me. for the blues either bb king s.r.v. or Freddie king for rock Ritchie blackmore dave Gilmour allen Collins from lynrd skynrd for those that haven't heard of him. acoustic I seen a guy years ago in the royal concert hall playing an acoustic show with al stewart his name was Laurence juber I have never seen anyone in the flesh that good , he done a solo version of little wing and I swear either there were another two guitarists hiding somewhere or he had twenty fingers on each hand I was spellbound.

Hendrix is obvious but to me he is the best. What he introduced to guitar playing really stretched the limits of the instrument.

Can't see further than Jimi. He's the obvious choice but the right one in my opinion.

Love Mike McCready from Pearl Jam as well.
