I know it's been said a few times already, but I always feel sorry for Ronny that his best delivery on set pieces by far was also his best penalty box striker by far.

If Griff had developed the same work ethic as a young boy that he later developed under Ronny and Rodgers, he would have become a * of a player

 

Aye Lubo, Thommo and Naka.

Watched a VOH video some time back and Naka seemed to hit a fair few crosses for him.

This current crop are a fkn embarassment at it.

 

This. I remember one game 2 years ago I think. Was a cup tie or something, and with the usual CK takers not there, Tierney was doing it. We had loads of headers from those corners, but just couldn't score from them.

 

Mulgrew all day long. He's scored about 5 in his career .unreal

 

It's one aspect of our team that is really poor and has been for years.

I think we lack players who are aerially aggresive, and we deliver * balls into the box from corners and set pieces. I wonder what our corner kick to goal ratio is. * frightening I'd imagine.

We should definitely look to be a bit more imaginative with our set pieces.

 

I may be off but I'm sure someone done a stat we were the worst in the league..

By far the most irritating aspect of watching us play. A joke.

To add insult to injury we seem to get an unheard of amount of corners on a regular basis (over 10 in alot of games) .

 

Thinking this earlier. He has definitely scored more than 1 this season as I remember watching a game earlier in the season and they said it wasn't the first he has scored this season.

 

Aye that really is * poor.

We have the players to make them count as well that is the annoying thing.

We should be working on them in the training ground and work on laying it off for somebody to run in and volley it or something semi clever. I remember Mulgrews header against the huns years ago.

Maybe we sign a guy who's * excellent in the air in the summer.

 

We have guy's that are good in the air..

Benkovic and Boyata for example..

Ajer to an extent but never scores..

Apart from that we're lacking..

It isn't those heading it's those delivering. If they were being put in to dangerous area's to attack every week you could say nothing about the set piece takers..

Fact is though, for a club our size we have an abundance of *'s who seem utterly hopeless of putting in good, consistent deliveries..

 

Christie took some good corners but most of the cheeseburger don't get past the 1st man or go over everyone between that and free kick there is a lot of improvement needed

 

I don’t know why we even bother with corners. All this arm in the air * before it’*, what does that actually mean?

“Here guys this is the signal for me not being able to hit the * ball over the first defender, but it looks like we practice corners at training!”

We are dreadful at it. When I was a young whippersnapper I had a manager who kept it real simple, “drill it into the box around the penalty spot, that way the keeper needs to be very confident to come that far out through many bodies, and it can be attacked by our guys and it might bounce off one of their guys, but get it over the first * defender or I’ll sub you!!!”
