    Aye but he was for a while with Barca, Villa on the left, Messi in the middle, Pedro on the right. Scoring 70 odd goals in a season :56:

    Infact, I can mind David Villa taking corners a few times for Spain as well.

    Lionel Messi he does what he wants. It’s Barca with a plethora of attacking talent. It would be interesting to see how many defenders like Puyol or Pique scored from his corners.

    Messi was always deployed as a false 9, when he was in the middle. Can't ever recall seeing him used as a traditional target man.

    Never seen Griff used as a traditional target man like Chris Sutton or Andy Carroll or something either.

    False 9 is still a 9 in my eyes, you’re just playing the striker role different.

    thats what I was getting at , Griffiths taking a corner ( no too bad at it ) but even if a big defender gets it and it breaks in the box , griff is still out at the corner flag and eddie takes up positions at the back of the box to head back into the danger area . mibby just me .

    Even though Griff isn't the biggest, his instincts will always be best placed to jump on to loose balls and score goals. I can totally see where you're coming from.

    Problem is the ball doesn’t * get to him to pounce on if he isn’t taking the corners cos everycunt else is useless.

    I want to see Tierney have a shot.

    I dont think that counts. Messi is a * dwarf, would be useless in the box if he wasnt taking the corner. Thing is more that Griff is also a decent header
