I never normally do this, but I can't believe there isn't a thread yet! There's less than a week to go!

Good shout. I think its because people are * it. If we were at home to Basel there would be a 100 page thread already.

As long as we can keep the score respectable il be happy.

I would take 4-0 right now....dont want to embarass them too much.

I've never been so petrified about a game in my life, talk that Messi might miss it but I doubt it. This games came too early in Rodgers tenure for me. We look brilliant but have a fragility at the back.

Baptism of fire for De Vries as well.

Heading over for this but not expecting much, could be a massive learning curve for the players and manager.

0-4 keeps popping into my head :54:

Can't wait to see how Brendan plays this one though. These are the games we've all wanted to be a part of again. I'm excited anyway!

    Get them pumped

10 men behind the ball and set pieces is the name of the game

Can you see Brendan doing that? We have not got the players for that to get a result playing that way. We will be using pace to counter them. If we get the defence sorted it could work a treat.

    I would go with a 3-4-2-1.

    Keeper
    Lustig Toure Sviatchenko
    Gamboa Brown Bitton Tierney
    Rogic Sinclair
    Griffiths

Basically, pack the defence but with threats on the counter.

We'll get turned over IMO but there's no shame in that. They are devastating, even if Messi and Iniesta don't make it. We should be playing 5 at the back, 2 holding midfielders and compacting central areas. The key to the Lenny victory over them was pushing them out wide and to the byline because they refuse to cross the ball and just play it back 9 times out of 10.

Folk are preoccupied by the game we know we're going to win a few days before. As soon as we've slayed the Newco there will be a far greater buzz about the place.

    Definitely Paul, I'd go:

    De Vries

    Gamboa Lustig Toure Sviatchenko Tierney

    Brown Bitton Henderson

    Sinclair

    Griffiths

Henderson because he's our only other central midfielder that's good defensively and his set piece delivery can be devastating.

5 goal keepers, the rest defenders. Let's try salvage a draw. If not let's just have a go. Sure we'll more than certainty get demolished but imagine that feeling for the 5 minutes were ahead.

I'm quite interested in the formation/line up just because I don't think Rodgers knows how to set up to defend and I don't think we've got a squad which will be particularly good at setting up to defend either. We could get absolutely pumped or we could lose 4-2 or 5-2 which wouldn't be a disaster.
