The 2 at our club who are best suited for playing out from the back. Calm, collected, can pick when to come out into space, squeeze the game up and are pacy enough to watch for the counter.

Bain is quick off the mark and he doesn’t doubt himself when to, good calm collected first touch, knows where his defenders (and most importantly the * opposition are)

Benkovic’s range of passing is * insane and he’s happy enough being pressed.

Ajer’s dribbling is actually one of the best in the squad for me, he can step up and out, him being on the right makes it easier for him not to second guess himself as Forrest is always available when he does it, or McGregor/Broony on the inside.

We know they have their defensive qualities but what we mainly see, and tonight is just a glimpse for me, is the way Brendan actually wants to play when he talks about playing it out from the back.

What I like about Bain, opposed to Gordon is he has the passing ability to pick out a DM(usually McGregor) in a central area, instead of hoofing wide or more often than not straight out the park, like Gordon..

This makes a massive difference to our rhythm.. Bain is No1..

Some of the passing tonight was excellent, all over the pitch

Gordon's lofted ball that forces Forrest into an aerial battle on the half way line against a 6ft 2 hammer thrower. Love it. Miss it.

Ajer and Bain should be given more chances no doubt about it.
