On paper I think those players are good enough to overcome a favourable draw but I don't think it can be overstated the impact that bringing in new players and the added competition on individuals and the squad can have as a whole. We seen the mini-boost we got in October/November when Christie broke through. it's infectious.

There are zero excuses for the board this summer. Lennon has taken on the job and needs to be backed. A large part of the support was against his appointment in the first place, failing to back him in strengthening a squad that badly needs it will be unforgivable for me.

If it means we have to pay a slightly higher initial transfer fee or weekly wage than we would after weeks of posturing then so be it. Starting this season well with Champions League qualification and decent league form would be absolutely massive. A lot of the doubt would be quelled and the club as a whole could get back in a unified charge towards the 9 and 10.

Will be no ones fault but our own if were put out by anyone besides Prague or Berne in Round 4. Will take a freak result otherwise not to get to that stage. We really should be getting to that stage.

We're lucky we pretty much have a bye to the 3rd round. Gives us 3 weeks to get a RB sorted and settled. Get Jullien fully bedded in. Middle to front we have more than enough. But Defending well first and foremost is the key in these games. As it stands we still have it in our hands to get there.

Some of our defending at corners in Sarajevo was well ropey. I'm hoping the big man will be the organiser type.

Every single day I wake up the first thought that I have is regarding us signing a RB. One day it will happen. Surely it will happen. Maybe it will happen.......

Only have to look at the impact Moussa had v Astana and Beer Sheva. Sinclair had v Beer Sheva and Ntcham had V Astana in the summers they signed.

Our full defence was the reason and the fact we were * going forward.

Even in absolute terms, that defence was not very experienced out there. Add to that that we had to play a midfielder at CB, a CB at RB and a new signing at LB playing his first competitive game for us and you can expect a bit of disorganisation. Factor in that we just lost one of our real leaders in Lustig and the fact that it was our first competitive game of the season and I was actually really happy with how we defended on the whole (albeit Brown deserves some of the credit for that).

If we're still defending like that at the end of August, we're in trouble. I agree.

As you say yourself, Ralston is a youth development player, and already has people on his back. If he'd sneezed the wrong way the other day a dozen people would've called 'PLAGUE!!!'.

Will he make it in the longer term? * knows! Probably not! But, playing him in the cl and having him eviscerated by his own fans was never an option.

The blatantly obvious is, we need a quality RB in pronto. We can take time to find another, but we can't keep riding our luck with a McGyvered defense

Thought the wee man was unlucky with that one. Very hard to take those.

Jamesy hanging about at the edge of the box, floated over for a volley he smashed into the floor.

I think you of all people will forgive me for it; but I was probably watching Broony. I spent much of that game watching him, fascinated. He really has developed a sixth sense.

He was done twice, which resulted in goals. Dress it up as you wish, he should of been replaced Rodgers first season as it was clear as day he was regressing sharpish.

He still hasn't been, and thats the crux of the point - Weak spots get punished at that level, and right full back is now even weaker than it was last season.

We are still 7 players short from a decent squad and hopefully a right back in as soon as possible but still think our midfield still needs two quality signings as we were over run by the zombies at the last two games at the bigotdome and think their midfield has improved with the Liverpool winger and the Charlton signing .

I agree we need more in, but what’s worrying me is Lennon’s comments regarding trimming the squad.

Unless we get rid of the players he is talking about and replace them and add quality it has me worrying now.

We lacked depth last season and we have lost loads of players this summer and we still need a good few more in to make up the numbers.

We need a quality RB and box to box CM to give us a great chance of qualifying.

It wasn’t until Sinclair came in that Rodgers team actually clicked. Absolute unreal impact.

It was his running off the ball that just seemed to inspire everyone else like ahhh that’s what he’s wanting.
