I watch a lot of stuff on YouTube and something I have watched recently has got me thinking.

It is widely accepted in science we are 30-50 years to artificial super intelligence. Potentially our last invention ever which could either lead to our immortality or extinction.

Posted 3 videos that I have found interesting .

Exciting times ahead with this technology and to potentially be alive when it happens ? I agree it would be one of the most important moments in human history .

    Thoughts ?

I feel we're just going blindly forward with these inventions with complete disregard for the consequences. It's all about who can outdo who and make the most advanced technology. Eventually we will make something that will be too powerful to reverse, that's the reality.

It's not really worth worrying about from our point of view. When it happens, it happens. We are inevitably * though in my opinion.

Can’t say I agree with anything here, other than it’s not worth worrying about.

What makes you think that? I've carved most of my opinion from Joe Rogan's podcasts. He's had some great guests on talking about it including Elon Musk, who pretty much agrees with what I've just said.

Agree! One day we'll invent something that there will be no stopping it, especially in the wrong hands.

I really don't think we are 30/50 years away from it.

Probably more like hundreds of years.

I watched ex machina again the other night, do you honestly think we are ever going to. Reach that stage?

I think we will eventually hit a ceiling

The day has arrived long ago when huge companies decided we could be replaced with machines. Faster output and more cost effective long term and also no sick days and trustworthy. They have moved into the places we shop and in the States they are using robots to make food in the restaurant industry. All this may be cost effective but in the long term people will not have employment to afford the things industry has to offer. So I believe we should all take our little bit of a stand and refuse to use self service tills at supermarkets and use the person controlled tills. Start supporting local family business and restaurants.

They have done it heavily in my work mate, only thing I will say is when the robots or computer systems go down it’s left up to the humans to get on with it. Our full system is dependent on computer software if that’s down then * all runs.

I believe the Western world as a union or namely America/Israel and all their cheer leaders already possess the technology and ability to carry out changing the course of the world we live in. Just needs to fall into the hands of a crazier Trump or Netenyahu. It is a continuation of the Cold Wars Space race.

we could end up in similer position as the neatherndals when more advanced neatherndals become smarter humans and wiped them out with more advanced technology.an evolution of sorts.well thats one of the more popular theories on what happened to the caveman.:56:

The problem is capitalism, not technology.

As someone who's going to need a new heart sooner or later and knowing I won't be high up on the transplant list, I wish they would invest more money in creating a mechanical heart rather than a mechanical doctor who would put a real heart in.
Hmm think I'm defeating my own argument here. So I'm hoping for a mechanical heart, but what happens if they are capable of doing that. Surely they will be capable of more.
So when I lose my legs in an accident and I get mechanical legs, then I get dementia and they * a puter chip in my head, suddenly I'm the robot I was against in the first place :43:
