The invincibles, 3 premier league titles,6 FA cups, CL final , several memorable matches and results. He also helped change the attitudes of British footballers in regard to fitness and nutrition. His time at Arsenal definitely should be up now though.

As soon as he's gone arsenal will plummet to 8th atleast. It'll take a few seasons to rebuild.

Watching them last night was painful. Arsenal were gutless cowards, little boys playing in a mans game. Wenger has always spoiled and protected his players, the result is they play as if they have had their spine surgically removed. Compare that to the Vieras, Keowens, and Bergkamps that put it about and stood tall. Shocking.

Pretty much everything in his first 10 years, not the next?

Can't understand why people still defend him. They haven't won a title for almost 15 years and their team is soft as *. The players aren't afraid to lose because they know he won't put his foot up their *. Imagine Simeone in charge, they'd be running through brick walls for him.

    He's well past it.

After the first 10 years they were skint building the new stadium, so he also negotiated the next 5 years say 2007-2012 well, keeping them in the CL with mostly cheap guys or guys he brought through like Almunia, Szczesny, Fabianski, Sagna, Eboue, Senderos, Toure, Clichy, Gibbs, Djourou, Diaby, Song, Flamini, Fabregas, Nasri, Hleb, Walcott, Adebayor, Bendtner, Eduardo, Van Persie. Those players probably only cost about £30million combined at a time Man U and Chelsea were paying that for guys like Shevchenko and Berbatov.

He hardly spent a penny on those guys and he was having to replace replacing players like Campbell, Ashley Cole, Vieira, Gilberto, Ljungberg, Pires, Bergkamp and Henry.

His main failure has been the last 3/4 years where he started spending big money on Mustafi, Xhaka, Ozil and Sanchez and a lot more money on other squad players but their team doesnt seem to have imprved.

I think he's a good manager, but it's best if he moves on from Arsenal after this season is finished

He spent just shy of 30 million between Arshavin and Nasri alone...

Better part of 20 million between Koscielney and Vermaelen. 32 and a half mil on Chamberlain, Gervinho and Arteta.

Better part of 50 mil on Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla and Monreal.

Arsenal have been a selling club which has no doubt held him back but they've not exactly been paupers.

He's ran his race at Arsenal now, even subtly suggesting he'll be managing elsewhere next season proves that.

Only in the last few years his teams have been rubbish. His Invincibles team was one of the best teams ever, was hoping he'd turn it around.

Im a bit on the fence when it comes to him, i really can see both arguments. I do like him and think he is a great manager, but all supporters want is trophies, and big ones at that.

However, im not convinced they would be any better with someone else coming in. Yes, they have had money to spend, but not in the big bracket of Chelsea Man U and Man C. Arsenal are now very much like Liverpool, still desperately trying to cling on to the shirttails of the money clubs. Pochettino will fall short again at Spurs too, even though he is clearly a cracking manager. Freak years apart, it is so hard to win a league now for any team outwith the 3 heavy hitters.

Exactly. Money talks. Is his spending budget even been anywhere near Liverpool? Sure now the stadiums getting paid off he's more to spend. Yet he's still not got man utd city or Chelsea money to blow. Give him that and he'd give you a league title imo.

He does have money to spend, though, there's been articles going round every year after Arsenal release their accounts talking about how they've got the most cash reserves of any English club, more than Real, Bayern and Barca even. Just because he's reluctant to spend it doesn't mean it's not currently there.

As for Klopp, he's sold more than he's spent at Liverpool thus far. He'd love to have Arsenal's spending power.

Arsenal are not in the top 10 when it comes to Net spending!

Part of his problem is that he was ahead of the game when he was first at Arsenal. Now he's not, he's stagnated.

    Link doesn't work, mate.

I take your point and the lack of spending is a perfectly fine argument with regard to the stadium move, but that was a decade ago. He's recently been able to make transfer moves for the likes of Ozil and Sanchez that Liverpool could only dream of, particularly on the wage front.

I don't think he's underperformed relative to resources in the league, though last season was a glaring example of a missed opportunity for Arsenal. But you could say the same about Spurs.

It's more the lack of improvement in the big games, a year on and a supposedly less impressive Bayern have spanked them off the park by the same scoreline, the progress looks stagnant.

I think he's consistently neglected defensive depth, January was a perfect time to go and get better cover for Mertesacker than Gabriel, who never looks convincing. Why didn't he double down on the Mustafi signing in the summer by going out and getting someone reasonably cheap like Ash Williams, for example? He went for that Holding chap from Bolton, not exactly the move of a side with title aspirations.

Is it not 13 years since they won the league. No way any of the other big sides in England would tolerate the same manager going that long without winning it.
