Ralston has had more poor games for Celtic and Dundee United that I have seen than good ones.

My own personal opinion is 2 things are skewing folks view on him; the fact he loves a tackle and the fact Lustig has been poor.

When was the last time he had a poor game for Celtic? Whatever happened with him at Dundee Utd I personally couldn't give a *.

A defender that loves to tackle and Lustig being close to done is the perfect opportunity to get a shot in the team as first pick and show what he can do.

Can't comment on Dundee United as never seen any of his performances there but given they're a basket case I'd pay more credence to his time in a Celtic shirt.

I can't actually think of a memorably poor performance from him for us, unless you mean up against the most expensive player in the world? Given he was only 18 and flung in at the deep end that would be extremely hypercritical.

I’d rather we signed a quality right back.

St Johnstone home draw he played an hour but regardless it’s clear as day he is a limited technical player.

It's not so much that he's had many 'bad' performances. Most of his appearances have been against the likes of Dundee, Motherwell, St Johnstone etc... so you'd expect him to cope in those matches.

For me it's just I don't see anything special in him. He's a unit and he's aggressive. Likes to drive forward. That's great. But he's stiff as * on the ball, not the paciest, and I think he's looked suspect defensively a few times as well.

Why are you having a period? I find your choice of language very confusing; are you American?
Of course it wasn't meant to be used on the lad, he was dead long before he was born!
Lustig is gone and Gamboa isn't good enough. He is the best by default and appears to be improving. Until we sign another, he deserves a chance in the team.

I agree entirely with the comment about League 2 players, the problem, however, is that Celtic keep signing players with talent and no application. The balance is key. Ideally, everybody would have both, but that isn't modern football.

I saw him twice for Dundee United. Dumbarton and Livingston.

Was best player on the pitch at Dumbarton and scored. Let down by rest of defence. Particularly big Moshni. Livingston they had 2 men on him - mostly to kick him and he was still pretty decent.

Relatives are United fans and they raved about him.

Different league and standard of football granted.

I see more people using that as something to criticise him with, than not.

Like you’ve just done, when no * else has mentioned it at all.

    Funny that.

I like his positional sense, he’s good in the air, he’s a danger in the opposite box.

Most of all I just like his attitude though. Reminds me of Stephen McManus. You need a few * like that in your team.

I'd get it if he was a lazy * but his attitude and commitment is top notch..

It isn't even like he's a bad player. Lacks a tiny bit of pace but get's around well and room for technical improvement....but still decent and fits in well to our system..

At the time, aye, people like his attitude when it came to that wee *. The only people who still mention it, are people like you who somehow hold it against him.

I’d rather he keep that sort of attitude. I don’t like meekness in footballers, give me the sort of attitude that doesn’t give up, doesn’t hide, rather than a team of Teemu Pukki’s and Gary Mackay-Steven’s.
