MARIBOR midfielder Agim Ibraimi has revealed he would still consider a move to Celtic despite having helped eliminate them from the Champions League.

The 25-year-old playmaker, an influential performer in the Slovenian champions’ 1-0 win at Celtic Park on Tuesday night, has been one of the Parkhead club’s signing targets during the current transfer window.

Maribor moved to head off Celtic’s interest by agreeing a new two-year contract with their prize asset shortly before the teams drew 1-1 in the first leg of the Champions League play-off round tie last week. But Ibraimi has refused to close the door on revived interest before Monday night’s transfer deadline.

“I don’t know what will happen now,” said the Macedonian international. “We are heading for the Champions League and I can’t say much about this.

“These are things for directors and managers to discuss. You know how it works – first it goes in the newspaper and then the player finds out about the move.

“I signed a new two-year contract ten days ago, but you never know – everything could still change. The Celtic fans were incredible on Tuesday night and if I got another chance, then I would have to think about it.

“But Maribor is now in the Champions League and I have never played at that level before. This is a big opportunity for us and I think that as things are right now, I will play with Maribor in the Champions League.

Was he their number 10? He looked like one of the main threats all night.

Personally, I would be quite happy to see it happen. If Tonev's loan really is going to be cancelled, then he would be a decent replacement (he looked better than some of the options we have on the wings anyway).

He was fairly threatening in both matches, and looks like the sort of player we could be doing with. He was putting in decent passes, and was good at putting pressure on our defence (although we done a good job of that ourselves). He was a little subdued in the second half, but that could be down to the knock he took.

It's probably not going to happen, especially now Maribor are in the CL. If it did though it be a decent enough signing.

Zyro looked alright as well. I very much doubt we'll ever do business with Legia though, at least for the foreseeable future.

Looked good last night, but every year we are linked with a load of players from Eastern Europe and rarely ever sign any of them.

I think he looked like an exciting player who could make things happen and although they are in the champions league he might still fancy coming here. Even though we have been shagged out there is always the chance we will be in next year if we can turn things around, nobody knows where we will be at in a year's time. He might just fancy the gamble.
