EXACTLY a year ago we beat Aberdeen 2-1 at home....

We were still 3 points adrift of the top (Hamilton I think) and in 4th place.

Strength and size of squad will pull us through!

The narrowing gap between us and the rest is worrying for a team with European hopes...

Would love us to come away from Amsterdam with something, but just can't see it.

 

Whenever Mulgrew and Boyata are the CB partnership we look * at the back, even against Starnjarn they looked poor together.

 

Mulgrew was decent yesterday, Simunovic & Mulgrew or Simunovic & Blackett possibly.

Boyata looks very poor so far and will need to start improving fast..

 

Boyata was solid except from 2 mistakes, 1 of which was giving away the penalty. I don't trust Charlie or Boyata, so having them 2 as CB's there is always going to be mistakes. So we are now putting our faith in Simunovic who has yet to play.

I want Lustig at CB, in my view that would sort out a lot of issues. Then play Janko at RB with Efe as back up.

 

Simunovic and Blackett as CB's would be worth a go as well definitely.

 

Two left footers, we have too many left footed players as it is in the rest of the team, seems quite dodgy to play with too many for some reason, probably just an irrational fear though.

We must be one of the only teams in Europe who could field an entire team of left-footed players.

Never knew Simunovic was left footed, I get worried with too many left footers in the team as well for some reason. If he is strong on his right foot then should be fine.

 

Maybe he is actually, I dont know for some reason I just thought of him as left footed but now I think I dont even know why I think that :smiley-laughing002:

I thought he was right footed too, but did a bit of digging and according to transfermarket.co.uk he's a lefty..

No too sure about every mediocre performance but, last year, we improved once he was injured and Bitton pretty much got his place.

I've been one of Chico's fans over the years and couldn't believe the hate for him when I joined on here last year but I didn't miss him at all once we started rocking.

Could be merely coincedental that both years, early season, with Chuck in the team, we've been mince or.....it could be that VVD's head was already at Southampton, Boyata is a new Caldwell, (worth an opposition goal a game) Broony's aff it, (for whatever reason) Johansen's aff it and has, 'bein a *' tendencies, Bitton's aff it and Ronny's back to making bewildering decisions like....freezing out our most gifted player (probably) and definite goalscorer in Commons or playing him wide, where he's ineffective, starting GMS when he's aff it and bumping up Rogic when he's just done a round the world tour with the Oz national team and WE KNOW he can't do 90 minutes.

 

What a nightmare.

Ronny has to admit he got it all wrong, Blackett should have played in the middle with Mulgrew on the left. Johansen is not a right-midfielder and Rogic should not have come back up the tunnel at half time.

Then there is the subs, somebody please tell me when the 'Efe Ambrose joke' will end, seriously, why is this guy anywhere near our squad never mind our team? I'm a better full-back than the *, he is an absolute idiot. Then there is the great enigma that is James Forrest, people openly groan when the boy appears on the pitch. He has absolutely nothing but pace, a journeyman SPL winger at best.

What does Kris Commons have to do to get on the pitch? Johansen hasn't kicked a ball for weeks and our captain offers zero going forward. Bitton must be looking around him and wondering who he can trust with a pass.
