At the end of may I'm going to buy myself a new laptop. Trying to stay well below 1000 euro's. (800-900)
Using it for some internet/some casual gaming (I'm alright with medium settings for some of the latest games any higher settings would be plus) watching movies etc.

Had this one in mind. If anyone has better options just let me know. (And no I'm not looking for a desktop)

Maybe a bit too much info below, but it was hard enough to find the specs in English only.

    I have a HP Pavilion.

Set me back around £675 but that was nearly 3 years ago now.

Good laptop and had few problems. The battery needs replaced but that is pretty standard.

It runs the likes of FM on 5* which is good enough for me. Films etc all good. Dunno what kind of casual gaming you want mind you. FM is as far as I delve.

I only have a Radeon graphic card I think whereas that one you have there is NVIDIA which is one of the best IIRC.

Football Manager would be the main thing I play on it too, but if I can play some "newer" games like maybe Battlefield 1/Resident Evil on medium settings and games like DayZ I would be satisfied. (Have my PS4 for my main gaming) Probably will keep my current laptop for movies etc. as long it doesn't fall apart even more. (Monitor only is attached to one hinge (?))

See my laptop would no doubt * itself if I attempted to run DayZ and BF1:56: So for that a gaming laptop is probably the way to go. The graphics card in that one you posted sounds good, but I'll admit I'm not an expert.

My last laptop was in a terrible state near the end. The screen part was only connected to the keyboard by a couple of wires. I had to prop up the screen with a couple of cups or cushions if I was sitting on the couch. :giggle1:

Same here....or was it half a star? Doesn't even show the crowds at the stadiums even though I ticked the box.

:giggle1:. Mine got * because I LOVE to have cables everywhere. First I got stuck behind my headphone cable, so that input was *, next I got stuck behind the HDMI cable running from my laptop to my TV and cracked the panel near the hinge and finally tripped over the powercable and that destroyed the hinge itself. Afraid of folding the * thing closed now, so I keep the laptop open at all times.

it actually probably is/was a half star.

Ah, I've always wondered why the * i never had anyone in the crowd, regardless of how big a game it was :56::56::56:

Think I'll go with the the Omen one I posted in the first post. Had a quick look around on Steam and I think it will do the job just fine. One month still to decide though. This one's 849 Euro's. Any tips still welcome though.

    Mines has been perfect.

Just depends on your luck sometimes. And the model.

The laptop you posted looks good imo, screens a bit on the small side but probably about standard as far as laptops go. Should run BF1/resi quite well on low settings. I took the liberty of picking out the main components as your op was giving me eye cancer:

    Monitor 15.6" 1080p
    Graphics card: gtx 960m 2gb
    Memory: 8gb ddr4
    Processor: i5 6300hq
    SSD: 128gb
    HD: 1tb 7200rpm

Had a quick look on ebuyer and google and it seems a fair price for a laptop of that spec. :50:

The HP Pavilion Laptop 15.6. with the Intel chip are generally the most reliable. Just hook it up to whatever size of monitor you want for gaming and away you go. I wouldn't buy any other make of laptop than HP Pavilion. Our family have used them for years, great laptops.

You must of got a Friday one. Mines just went over 11 years old. Used everyday. Mainly used to watch kodi on my tv these days although used and abused for counter strike for many years. Can't fault how good its been.

This is after a long search my number 1 pick for the moment.

I heard it was a bit on the heavy side and strangely build so it doesn't fit well in a laptop bag/sleeve, but am not really going to travel with it.

It's 999 euro's (Was 1199) Hope the price will stay the same until the 23rd of May.

Too bad the screen isn't that big and there isn't a VGA port, but might go for a desktop gaming pc this time next year if this meets my expectations. Would a external VGA port work btw?

An external VGA port might be a bit laggy, if your monitor has a DVI port you'd be better of with a HDMI to DVI adapter.
