Don't like it, and none of those guys would be interested in us anyway. The only future where Celtic become a force again, is one where we find a way out of this league. Preferably to form a European league with the likes of Ajax.

The epl is soulless, they’re even considering giving song sheets out at Old Tra££ord to encourage the prawn sandwich brigade to sing a bit.

It would be nice in theory but I'd prefer to develop players and grow the way we have been doing the last few years.
It would be different if Desmond started investing large sums like the O'Neill days, but I wouldn't want a foreign investor from China etc.

Having someone spend money on us at an unsustainable level is a big no, what happens when if get bored or their other businesses take a hit like like with deadco and hearts.

Selling stadium naming rights is the furthest I'd be happy with, because us fans will still call it whatever we want anyway.

Can talk about tradition and whatever but the potential our club has is frightening if we got something like that and there was changes in league structure in europe

I dont see why any oil baron would be interested in buying celtic. If they did, I guess it would depend on how they spend their cash. I wouldnt have an issue with it if they put it into the clubs infrastructure to build something long term. If they just chucked around cash on big signings I would be worried that they eventually get bored and we go busto.

On a sort of 'principle' level I dont see it being any different to what we have now so they wouldnt bother me. It would more be the fear of overspending and blowing up.

It would be all fun and games until the clappers and song sheets start getting dished out :giggle1:

I don't like the idea of it at all. Modern football is soulless enough without Celtic becoming a completely corporate entity.

I mind reading something a few years ago about the top 20 richest club owners in the UK.

We had 2 - DD and some other billionaire. They were mixing it with the chelski Russian but think it was just before City were bought over.

So...do we not already have this?

This isn’t where I read it but gives you an idea of what I mean:

Just need a Euro league to encourage investment :31:

I'd welcome there investment if it was with no strings or influence, we don't need them tho as we are one of best run clubs in world football with 2 billionaires already involved, its not the club that needs investment its the league as a whole

its probably not going to happen anyway, more realistic ways of getting money is selling stadium rights and stuff like that, if red bull or something fancied paying us £10 million a year to change the name to the red bull arena or something i woudnt be that bothered.

the next tv deal is key aswell, not so much for us, but for the strength of the league, which indirectly benefits us, tv deal down south stalled,so the next round for us is the chance to claw back some financial leverage over the championship and league 1 teams that the rest of the league has fallen behind financially in the last decade or so

    Denis O’Brien.

Estimated to have almost double the net worth of DD. You won’t find him in the ‘whoopsee’ aisle in Tesco.
