So Milan have been banned from Europe for a season for financial irregularities in the period from 2015-17. They finished 5th in Serie A, 1 point behind Inter who got the last CL spot. 4 * teams in Italy go to the CL. Criminal.

With Milan losing their spot that means 6/7th finish fill the rest of the Euro competition slots. 6 teams in Europe. Also for England, Spain and Germany. We dont get a CL slot for champions. Criminal.

The main point here is who investigated Milan for spending beyond their means? Why do they suffer but Man City and PSG for example and go out and spend money like confetti and they don't run in profit. Forever in debt along with Barca and Real Madrid.

Is it your league representatives and the country's legislation that see you reported to the higher powers of UEFA? Would make
sense closer to home with the SFA turning a blind eye and actually facilitating the Huns in their tinpot financial sinking swamp. When the death bell rings for the revised version of Huns the SFA will roll up like a hedgehog to protect the Masonic fraternity who can't accept the death of Club 1872.

UEFA need to clarify the rules and clarify do they change dependant of the country or league you ply your trade. They also need to sort out a fair competition for all it's members and not for the chosen super elite. Teams like ourselves, teams in Holland, Portugal, Scandinavia and even smaller leagues like FAI or IFA all adhere to the same rules as the elite then why should we be treated differently. Every club should toe the same line because something is stinking at the very top of the game and it has to be criminal with a few brown envelopes thrown in. I couldn't give a * for European competition but I don't want to see my team pasted 5 or 6 nil as we are a bigger club that deserves more respect than what is on offer.

    * UEFA

I could be wrong but I have a feeling PSG and City get mental sponsorship deals from their owners to offset a lot of the losses.

Was wondering this myself when I saw the news....
City have been warned have they not? Could be wrong but I was under the impression they were warned about their spending sometime in the last couple years?
Anyhow, were Milan warned at all at the time? Given time to sort themselves out?

Was part of the reasoning behind the man city stadium sponsorship, to get around FFP

My gut feeling is they probably won't give a * mate!! Unless they think they've a real chance of winning it and a CL berth these teams just consider this comp an inconvenience. They probably think they've dodged a bullet with regards to the fact that they weren't in the CL.

Betcha if it was a CL league place they'd throw the kitchen sink at it to reverse the decision and probably win it too!! Clubs this size from these countries usually do.

I'm so cynical these days with just about everything concerning UEFA.

Not read links in this thread, but what I read earlier today, Milan have refused to take part, rather than being banned.

Almost like they are trying to look like the good guys.
'we don't meet ffp for 15-17 period, so we will step aside and make sure we meet them'

While as you say, knowing it's 'just' the Europa

It’s so that if they qualify for CL next year they won’t get this brought up & banned.

Bit like taking a yellow in the early rounds when your team has qualified so you are available for the knockout stages

just glossed over it myself mate but what you've said just confirms it really. Using a season in the EL as a get out and turn public perception in their favour. They're no mugs.

of course there's that too!! Like i said they're probably quite chuffed when they look at the pluses and minuses and they don't have that pesky EL interfering with their goal of a top 4.

It's annoying because I actually quite like them.

No real reason to, but they are my "Italian team" if there is such a thing.

There's a good video by Tifo Football on the mismanagement at Milan. I think they're owned by a vulture fund or definitely were recently.
Very different to PSG and City where the investors and managers are bending/breaking the rules for benefit on the park.

Thought there was more to it. Nobody at UEFA hammers teams like Milan.

I guess you have to laugh at how you can buy a football team and then sponsor them yourself so you can get round the FFP rules. That is a loopchasm that really needs closed up.
