It was a great night for the new bhoys Sinclair and Dembele, who continued to display why Brendan Rodgers was eager to sign them. Dembele confidently putting away another penalty along with scoring his first goal from open play for the Scottish champions.

The scoring was opened by Tom Rogic after a lovely chipped pass into the Motherwell box from Callum McGregor. Rogig spinning on his heel, controlled the ball in the air with his right before dispatching a volley into the top right corner of the net.

As Celtic's 40 goal galactico was suspended this evening, it was up to the other attackers to step up and be counted. Motherwell started with a 5-3-2 formation, clearly aiming to park the bus and frustrate Celtic. However, Celtic's attacking display throughout the match was nothing short of brilliant. By the end of the game, Celtic had notched up no fewer than 26 attempts on the Motherwell goal and could have easily scored another couple of goals.

Celtic's penalty was debated by the live commentary team of Chris Sutton and Stephen Craigan. Scott Sinclair was pushed over in the box with an arm to the back, a stonewall penalty.

It it wasn't for Craig Samson in the Motherwell goal, Celtic would have had another couple of goals either side of half time.

Scott Sinclair, buzzing the entire game, showed his quality and on 61 minutes cut inside from the left to score a stunning scooped shot past Samson's left hand side of the goal.

Three minutes after this, Moussa Dembele scored his first goal from open play for Celtic, a much needed confidence boost as his match fitness continues to improve.

With the comfortable scoreline, Rodgers saw fit to give some youth academy players game time, as Jamie McCart got his competitive Celtic debut, along with Liam Henderson and Anthony Ralston getting in on the action.

Even the most critical of Celtic fans will have been happy with the team performance tonight as Brendan Rodgers continues to shape his Celtic vision. There's a vibrant pulse of excitement amongst the Celtic support just now, we wait with baited breath to see just how good this team can be.

Post match, Celtic were drawn against League 1 club, Alloa Athletic. The match will be played at Celtic Park and will surely be a great opportunity for some fringe players to get some minutes.
