TBH Clonbhoy I only watch games that I have a vested interest in. Celtic/Ireland games or games I have had a bet on.

“Oh no, we have to wait a minute for a decision, what a disgrace”.

It does make the game more fair. Aye, you have to be a simpleton to want the game to be fair. * moronic statement.

It doesn't make the game fairer. You "thinking" it does doesn't make it so.

    It does.

VAR isn’t the problem. It’s the handball law that’s the real issue. Not sure how some people can’t seem to separate the two.

The England decisions in the Nations League are a perfect example. Two goals correctly ruled out that would otherwise have stood.

The one today isn’t VAR. It’s the handball law.

    It's isn't fair though..

The majority of us saw the penalty earlier as completely unfair..

There's been plenty and plenty of decisions like that. The United penalty at PSG in the last minute to knock them out in the Champions League is as unfair as it get's..

Off my head the Portugal/Switzerland game the other day Switzerland have a penalty appeal which isn't a penalty for me, Portugal go straight up the other end and get a stonewall penalty....ref checks and gives a nothing penalty for Switzerland..

It has some very good decisionsbut fair isn't how I'd describe it as it is still making far too many howlers for me. Maybe they'll get 100% right soon but you watch the EPL next season and the controversy that awaits this..

That isn’t VAR mate. It’s the handball law.

VAR is literally a tool. The referee’s are in charge of it. If they make the wrong decision it’s down to them. Not technology that has allowed them to view it a number of times.

I’m not saying VAR is perfect. It isn’t. However I don’t think it can be disputed that it makes the game more fair.

Referee’s will always make wrong decisions and laws will always be up for debate. However, VAR does make the game more fair. Still has a way to go though.

Yeah they do look scared, like an 80s San Marino team playing Germany. You shouldn't be going into the World Cup scared.

VAR is a good thing but it shouldn't be advertised as this miraculous invention which guarantees correct decisions. Look at the penalty Brazil got against Jamaica, never a penalty. A bigger problem is new rules and how referees' interpretation seems to vary. I mean what exactly is an unnatural position? Not having your arms glued to your side?

    Spot on.

There's too much confusion around the laws of the game. And they've been changed again this season so that's great!

I can understand that. I love international football still though. I watched three games yesterday, will watch three today and there was a few during the week too.
Club football, at the highest level, bores the * out of me. I watched both semi-finals of the CL and was bored senseless, despite all the bollocks I found an inevitability about the comebacks, yet I thoroughly enjoyed Northern Ireland vs Estonia and Scotland vs Cyprus.

Well I am disputing it. The only way it can be fair is if it literally looks at every challenge, every throw in. That is not practicable so for me we lose more than we gain from VAR.

How is this on before 9pm?.

Pure * * this, they're decent at football which is sexy enough but I'd let them all have a free kick at balls as well.

    Beautiful game indeed.

I think this is valid. Why only penalties or red cards? Free kicks often lead to goals or tactical fouling stops them.

England team are a level or two above Scotland, sadly. Been some great play, especially from Parris.

Was a definite penalty btw, and VAR is the best thing to happen to the game in years.
