2019 Women's World Cup

Wouldn't even need Messi, if James Forrest played for the Scotland womans team they'd win every game. They would never be able to get near a good male player for pace or strength or technique, it's a different game really.

I think womens football is around the standard of decent 13 year old male football as height, pace, physically thats around the level they compete, im sure womens International teams usually play 14-16 year old male teams as like warm up games or friendlies and they don't even compete as even males of that age are just too athletic for them.

I wonder how they would deal with transgenders actually in womens football as it could destroy it somecunt like Willo Flood could become a transgender and all of sudden he is the Pele of womens football.

The under 15s were much bigger than them.

 

The constant comparisons between men's and women's football is tedious as *.

 

I've never given women's football the time of day really.

And I admit I'm not going to following after the world cup is done, but nevertheless the world cup has shown me that I can enjoy it and be entertained by it as a neutral spectator as much as men's football.

It really shouldnt be hard to seperate the two and appreciate the level being presented.

I mean, just one little example, USA second goal was beautifully worked, wonderful weighted cross and smashing run and header by Morgan to put it away.

 

Sadly can't see anything other then a US win in the final. Hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

They would win at a canter. You could probably take a couple of SPFL level players, add them in and the amalgamated side would be nigh on untouchable in the women’s game.

The issue of transgender male to female athletes taking part is an interesting one. The argument would be that they’re recent and current testosterone/oestrogen balance is that of a female. I would argue that unless they changed early on in life they’re going to have reaped the benefits of a couple of decades of testosterone - more muscle, denser bones etc. It will become more of an issue in the coming years I think.

Having said all that I’m actually very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the women’s game. It’s quite watchable. The last time I really watched women’s football it was terrible, errors everywhere, particularly from the goalkeepers. Much better game now, reasonable shape and structure to most teams, game no longer littered with errors, good build up play - it’s been a really good advert for the game imo.

 

They seem very keen on comparing themselves to mens football at every chance they get.

What's that about ?

 

Just need to look at the transgender woman Fallon Foxin MMA. Was a man for about 30 years so had the advantage of male bone density and muscle mass. The top females struggle against average males on direct competition.

It just isn't fair to ask women to compete against men in most sports as there's a clear physical disadvantage.
