2019 Women's World Cup

Thought the game last was incredibly entertaining.

 

Aren't we able to just enjoy people playing football.

I couldn't give a * if they aren't as hard, fast, big, strong, skillful or anything else as the men you should be able to separate the two and appreciate that there is quality there to be seen.

Giving them some credit that Bronze for England, her goal in the 3-0 win the other day was a * bullet and was a wonder strike. Was it not a tiny wee lassie from Japan that also scored a belter against Scotland.

Paris for England from what I've seen has been a good watch, skillful. Can't remember her name but there was one for USA yesterday that such a world class touch anytime they controlled the ball in almost all situations.

I've not watched every game but by * what I've seen has been miles and miles better then any recent world cup put on by the mens teams

Get wit your saying mate, but gloryhunters and following the sheep is a bit of a contrast

 

I know everyone is keen to be seen to be “right on” but this is garbage.

 

I actually prefer watching women's tennis to the men's version. Women's MMA can be good also Nunes v Cyborg was just amazing two absolute beasts throwing down edge of the seat stuff. I'm not anti-women sport, and I get your point about comparing but I do find it hard not to notice some horrific finishing and Goalkeepers that often get caught out, but there are great goals and it's getting better all the time.

 

The best game by far was USA v France. It was a good game of football.

The issue was it killed the USA. Their star player wasn't fit to play the next game and the rest of the team were dead on their legs after not much more than an hour.

Most of the USA team are vastly experienced players and I did think their fitness would be better. When the USA are going for it they actually play good football.


The game tonight is weak.

Was hoping Sweden would go through but they just don't have a lot of quality. Pish game overall.

USA should win it comfortably tbh.

Agree mate, glad England didn’t get through cause I genuinely think they would have beaten the Dutch fairly easily in the final

Bronze was their best player mate so it’s fairly apt that they will end up with a bronze medal

 

Neither were belters, the Japan one in particular was absolutely dead on in the middle of the goals but unfortunately the keeper was too small to save it. If a male keeper let it in he'd never hear the end of it.

It's not sexist to suggest the pitch should be shortened slightly and the goals made smaller, as both would lead to a higher quality spectacle. The players would still be able to run with 15mins to go and bang average shots wouldn't be sailing over a keepers head into the middle of the goal near enough every game.
