it would be easy to blame the rest of the league, but the reality is that both viktoria plzen and sparta prague are higher ranked than us. sparta prague have got quarter finals of europa league a couple seasons ago, and viktoria plzen have got to last 16 a couple of times too.

No doubt other scottish teams have underachieved but I think people overestimate much celtic do for the coefficient

I've had to look this up but here we go for this season.
Boleslav (entered 2nd qualifying round) knocked out 3rd QR
Sparta Prague (entered 3rd QR) knocked out 3rd QR
Pizan (entered CL 3rd QR) knocked out Europa last 16 (won group also)
Slavia Prague (entered CL play off) knocked out Europa group.
    Scotland
Rangers (Entered 1st QR) knocked out 1st QR by a team from Luxembourg.
    St Johnstone, see above.
Aberdeen (entered 2nd QR) knocked out 3rd QR by a Cypriot team.
Celtic (entered 2nd CL QR) knocked out Europa Last 32.
While Celtic did better in the Champions league, their teams did better overall.

I would hope most people would have heard of a team from prague who were involved in perhaps the second most important european tie in our history:celt_2: (in hindsight)

We can dress it up any way we like but we get zero help from anyone else in this country and that’s been the case since begrudgingly at least oldco were earning coefficiency points.

The fact Scotland is so far behind Czech is not so much a reflection on Celtic and what we have been doing but more on the lack of Scottish club victories against even Macedonian and Latvian teams let alone qualifying for any round past the 2nd Qualifier.

The only points being generated in this system for Scotland are coming from us whereas Czech at least have a few earning a reasonable amount each in the shape of Plzen, Sparta and Slavia Prague

Yes and no. If it was not for Celtic then the country would probably worse for teams like Aberdeen who would have to start a round earlier. Scotland has actually dropped to 26, and Cyprus is now ahead of us. You can check here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient

However Celtic's poor turnouts in the previous 3 years where in 2015-16 we came bottom of the group in the Europa League. If Celtic had done a bit better Scotland would be higher but I doubt in the top 15 which is where you need to be to get 2 Champions League spots.

Both we and the other scottish teams underachieve in Europe.

Look at the teams above us in the ranking, many have far lower budgets and a fraction of our support.

About the other scottish teams, they are such a pathetic bunch that any professional team can beat them. Literally any. In fact not even that, two out of the three scottish teams last season got knocked out by semi pro teams at the first chance possible

Without Celtic's contribution Scotland would drop to 37th in the rankings, in between Finland and Albania. All Scottish Clubs would start in the 1st round.

The 15-16 season was poor, with just 7.5 points added to the national coefficient. But the other 2 before that were much of the same as the 2 seasons under Rodgers - this season we added 12.5pts to the national coefficient, each of the other 3 were 10.5pts.

To put some perspective on it, Basel added 19pts to the Swiss coefficient for reaching the last 16 this year. If we did that for 5 consecutive seasons it might just put Scotland in the top 15. 5 repeats of this season might move us up to about 20th, not even good enough to skip the 1st qualifying round.

it wouldn't be as simple as removing celtic's contribution ofcourse, as aberdeen would take our spot in champions league qualifying. Would they qualify? probably not but they most likely would get to europa league group stages a couple times, as they have beaten a few relatively decent sides in europe.

for the coefficient to improve you should want aberdeen hibs and rangers (unfortunately), to consistently finish in european places as they will then be seeded and on average do better in future qualifiers.
