If someone hasn't heard of the vast majority of those players then they really need to catch up on the history of their sport.

They're touting * Balon d'Or and multiple European Cup winners as 'unknown', it's just silly.

Never ceases to amaze me that when you mention to many English football fans that Celtic won the European Cup before any English club did is genuinely a fact they are not aware of and reinforces that their knowledge of football overall is not that extensive.

Most English fans are genuinely ignorant to the sheer size and fan bases of Celtic and to be fair Oldco and can be taken aback when the few that do see and experience it in reality, I understand Man City fans who went to Parkhead in September were astonished at what they encountered

There's only 2 I haven't heard of but for people like myself who were born in the 90's or even the 00's, you can't expect many to have heard of the 1960 Balon d'Or winner etc.

Players like Zico and Jimmy Greaves are sort of household names but there's a few on that list that certainly aren't.

I think in terms of pedigree and history, of course celtic are bigger than the likes of sunderland and West ham. But worryingly if you look at viewing figures nowadays there is a massive gap between an average Celtic league game and even a diddy game in the epl. A celtic game on sky sports 1 gets around the 100k mark for viewers whereas sunderland vs west ham for example will be pushing 900k. That is worrying and sadly the way football is, I dont think it a stretch to think that before long these type of clubs with catch up with the more traditional footballing brands like celtic in terms of global support base.

Celtic will always be bigger than Sunderland and West Ham.

People are just watching the league, for a smaller team to become as popular as Celtic, they'll need the billion odd pounds that Man City have spent.

I'd say Daei and Cubillas are fairly niche, the rest are pivotal names though. I'm not expecting your average twelve year old to know any of them but surely most football fans would have read enough books and watched enough videos/dvds by the time they're in their early 20's to have come across them.

I just think list videos like that miss the chance to actually shed light on players most people wouldn't have come across.
