I don't think the board lack ambition. O'Neill and Strachan were backed well.....look what gs had to spend in his time at celtic.

I know... If we sign these lads, than it will break WGS' transfer record.:icon_mrgreen: Seriously, this will be a fantastic move if we do this, but I think it's too much money for two players. We're offering more money for Fortune just because Hull are after him too. His original price tag was 2.5 or 3 millions. It's 5 millions now, which means it's doubled. Too much, I'm afraid.

Its not if the manager things hes worth it.

GS was allowed to spend over £4m on 1 player (Brown)

I am fully aware of what Fortune we are after.

and Quinton Fortune isn't playing, unless he's been signed by some obscure * arsed team that we've never heard of. So who does he currently play for?

Yes, he also spend similar amount on Naka and Jan.

But, I believe that it's too much money for two players.

I'm going to suggest if they don't know what club they play for then they don't know who we're after or for how much.

I'm sure Quinton Fortune is going to Ipswich for a trial.

im pretty sure they are both nancy/nantes players (i know they are different teams im just saying they play for the same one)and if im right and this story is true then wouldnt it make it an easier transition for them both and more likeky to happen as they are apparently mates at nancy?

Quinton Fortune is available on a free transfer after a short spell in Belgium with Tubize. Birmingham and Ipswich are weighing up moves for him.

Even if it was euros it would still be at least £6.2m. Im happy we're actually getting spoken about spending money. It's not like us! :icon_mrgreen:

I don't think money is the issue like some do...its getting the right players. we spent a fortune on Jarosik and Gravesen in terms of their packages and look at them

£3.8m agreed for Fortune and according to the paper (aye I know it's a tabloid..) they reckon the other guy would be allowed to leave for around £1.5m, so this £7m business seems a bit excessive.
