I will admit I did go through a short period a good few seasons ago where he kinda done my nut in and I struggled to see what he brought to the team but as I said that was a long time ago and it's clearly evident what he brings to the team these days.

His distribution was dreadful for years but for a good few seasons now he's focussed on what's he's good at which is harrying people, driving forward, 4 and 5 yard passes and he also has a nice turn which he has always had.

His limitations were brutally evident for years, trying to level them at him at this point is poor IMO. He's a completely different footballer to the one that first got handed the armband.

Also, anyone that thinks he hasn't proven himself at the highest level are talking *, pure and simple. He's done it all over the place for Scotland and in Europe for Celtic.

He can still be suspect with simple passes but he has majorly improved in that area. Has noticeably sharpened up skill wise/technically and with his composure. Some of his more recent assists have been brilliant..

I can't praise the guy highly enough..

Sutton got a wee giggle out of him. Was interesting to hear him mention a little bit about Lennon's influence on him.

Brown would be the first name on the team sheet for me, but for me, his passing is poor. He overhits them too often in my opinion. He has other qualities to his game that no other in our team has though.

The change in brown when Lennon became manager was outstanding. Changed his style...actually got fit, and he realy changed his temperament.

Love Broony. Great players who's badly missed when not playing and a great captain

I said that a while back about Lennon. You could see that Brown's game totally changed under him.

Definitely. The spell where he played right of a midfield 4, although tucked inside, was some of the best football he had played. His discipline and positional play improved so much after that, that he forced himself back into a central role. Huge player for us.

I'm open to persuasion, I'm just trying to think of a European game where he's really done it?

Right off the bat, Benfica at home, when we drew 0-0. He was superb that night.

You shouldn't need persuading if you watch him.

The 1-0 game against Benfica he was better, one mentioned in the opening post. Every game he's played against Spartak, changed the game when he came on against Dynamo Moscow, played very well against Aalborg (got a perfectly good goal chopped off as well), played very well against Villareal in the 2-0 game, the 1-1 against Manchester United he was * outstanding, mind Ronaldo started going in a huff with him and booted him?

That's not to mention almost every game in the Europa last season, there's a lot more but that's just off the top of my head.

Of all the European nights we have had in his time, a 0-0 draw is the best we got? Lets be fair, you should be winning those ones, getting the three points for it to be classed an amazing performance.

Pish, you can have a great individual performance without the team winning.
