Thought he was really good again tonight. He never hides.

I like how when they show replays of opposition chances he's always alert to danger and not scared to take a sore one to block a shot or put off a defender. Perfect example being the first half when he stuck the head down knowing he was taking a boot to the dome.

I think he'd really benefit from some continuity along the backline both in formations and personnel, you can see he's still getting used to the way the team plays.

Interesting. Just looked at the James Forrest thread. Both players in the same position at opposite sides. Personally, I thought both were fine but Forrest created more.....

I was happy with his performance although he played better in the second half. Coming along nicely.

Iffy first half, good second half, keep him in the first 11 for the Clyde game.

A lot of the team were iffy first half tbh, I want Taylor getting a run of games same as Bolingoli did to see where we are with him.

Like his attitude, but not convinced he's a L/WB..

He's getting that run of games which is important, but for me the jury is out on him and Bolingoli.

Thought he was very poor first half..

Still no sold on him I have to be honest. Still looks too slow for the role. His crossing was poor and quite a bit of it hit and hope or fired against the first man..

Was better second half but still wasn't great for me..

What a * that winger was by the way the way he threw him in to the advertising board's. Proper scummy thing to do and miles worse than Griff the other day. Could've genuinely have him a dull one..

Strikes me as a guy that's been worrying he's not good enough to be part of things here, but with every passing game I can see he tests the water with a wee addition to his game. I think and hope (because you can see he desperately wants it) he'll grow into the role and if we stick with him I get the feeling he'll be running past opposing fullbacks & whipping balls in for fun. It's not just about all out pace in those situations. Confidence and directness are as effect in taking a man on in those small 5 yard bursts out wide.

Edit: example being, Tosh the heidbutter McKinlay. Never had lighting pace but always seemed to beat his man and stick a quality ball in.

If he was a bit faster and stronger he'd be class, actually looks more comfortable than Tierney on the ball.

Hopefully improves his physicality and pace though

I thought he struggled early on to settle into the position and to find his range of passing but grew the more the game went on.
Showed some nice bits of skill in the second half. Kept going and showed good character despite his shaky first half

Just reckon he would show up better if playing in a back 4, with a proper left sided winger ahead of him, like Ely.

IMO he's done pretty well these last 3 games, not perfect but he wasn't signed as the finished article. Already there are signs his attacking game is improving and defensively he's already the most competent of our 3 LB options. More than this though what I like is he's a tough little guy. Small, but punches above his weight, brave and really gives his all and we need those qualities in this league.

Why do people think Tierney was uncomfortable on the ball, he used to skin folk rotten and was capable of taking the ball past multiple players. Does nobody remember what he done to Alaba?

Tierney’s biggest weakness was keeping possession under pressure.

He could destroy anyone 1 on 1 but if he got the ball under pressure deep in his own half he was prone to a hoof up the park.

Aye, he could take a pass and go by a man but if we were in our own half and the ball down the line and the ball inside had been blocked, he often turned onto his right foot for a speculative hit into a general area

Compare that with the likes of Elhamed, he very rarely hits a ball without an actual target. if the ball down the line isn't on and the ball inside on, he keeps his composure and waits for a man to become free or will move to find the angle.

Tierney was an excellent LB but it was certainly one of the weaker parts of his game, as @Valhalla says
