Just realising, welsh starts today (excellent for the lad), but he was recalled barely a week ago, around the time that Lennon started telling us all he was happy with business.

Considering we all know a CB was a priority, his loan was recalled and he is now tossed in at the first game after the window, it's kinda telling that Lennon wanted another CB and wasn't allowed one.


Surely with a Europa run and title run we didnt pin it on a youth guy? Clearly Lennon wanted one in as well and this is what he's been given?


Big hopes for the lad, but it's not a good sign for the transfer front and board etc.

The board will say Jozo, Elhamed and Bitton are all more than capable of playing CB.. they just all happen to be injured.

With the general consensus that we didn't have a great window, it leaves us with a bigger build next window than we should've needed off the back of a treble treble and whatever we do this year.

Forster loan expiring, new centre half needed, left back could be reevaluated in the summer, Elyounoussi loan expiring, someone to challenge Forrest. Hopefully Soro is that Brown back up/replacement we need and Klimala can make an impact.

That's without even thinking about incoming bids for our top players. Rodgers will have cash to splash, interest in Edouard is a given. Will be a massive window.

 

No matter who we replace, the replacement isn't as good. It takes time to develop to that level and we sell. So priority is keeping everyone we can manage to keep. Get the 10 and have a stress free rebuild. If that means missing out on a £30m sale, who cares.
