What a feeling that would have been! Horrific what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jews. He sure took a dislike to them indeed!

Fast forward 75 years, wonder if they'd give the palestinians the same Courtesy in palastine! Something tells me well be waiting another 75 years for them to even consider it and by then, there will be no palastine left!

I make the difference between Jewish religion and what I call the Jewish state. Shame on you making a point to prove against the Jewish state today. Shame....

The state of Israel is for the Jewish religion, whether I agree on his point or not the Jewish state should know above all what persecution is. But alas we as humans never learn from the past do we?

Totally agree, but today is about the atrocities that happened 39/45.....that’s my point.

So sad. Caught the news this morning live at the camp with survivors there. Holy smokes that was poignant.

And you’ve totally missed my point. Are those people’s lives worth more than the innocents being slaughtered just now? There is no use commemorating the past atrocities whilst turning a blind eye to the ones being carried out in the name of the Holocaust at present.

I’ve not. Like I said I agree with you, but the people who this happened to have nothing to do with the atrocities that the Jewish state are committing now. They are being used, as you have shown, to reinforce a right wing government. I’m just remembering the millions of innocents that died because their religion, sexuality or race was wrong. Please see where I am coming from :50:

Yes and lots of those whose families that survived those terrible events are ashamed of Israel’s actions. Around 3 to 4 percent of the world’s population died in WW2.

It's right that we remember the innocents that died, but it's wrong the way this tragedy has been used to justify the existence of the illegal entity that continues very similar persecution methods to that of the *'s (at least in the early years).

Thing is though, there was a much greater persecution of peoples in the twentieth century in that of Stalin's purges in the Soviet Union where maybe 20 million died (4x that of the Holocaust) and it is barely even acknowledged.

Even less well known is that of a certain ethnic groups major contribution to that tragedy as nearly 40% of those holding the most senior posts in the Soviet security apparatuses were of Jewish origin, or that 80% of the original Soviet Government was Jewish.

I'm going to Krakow next week and booked to visit Auchswitz. Think it's something you need to actually see in person to understand the horrors of what went on.

I’ve been to Dachau camp and while it was harrowing and eerie being there, I don’t think we can ever truly understand that level of humiliation and suffering.

I'll never understand how so many ordinary German people could have been sucked into that nightmare world and carried out their duties with such enthusiasm.
I'll also never understand why the allies let so many death camp guards return back into mainstream society with very little or sometimes no punishment.
