Hopefully he is back healthy for Wednesday as we were poor at the back today without him. Could see us going back to a back 3 on Wednesday if Ajer is recovered in time.

My point is, he’s ‘injured’ that’s why he wasn’t playing. Nothing to do with bids being accepted or him spitting the dummy as the rumour are suggesting.

    * was that stunt yesterday all about. FFS just deal with it, lucky big FF bailed him out.
Still love the way he carries out the ball from the back.
Said it many times, a big lad like him should be getting on the end of corners, 15 I think we had yesterday and he never got neat one.

Been the same since he broke his eye socket/cheekbone (cant remember what one) and then had a scare straight after coming back. Before that he was going in for everything.

I'd play him on the right of the 3. He was playing well at RB at the start of the season.
Him and Jullien have been pish recently.

I thought he just misjudged the bounce because of the surface?

I fully understand that ball bounces way different on these lego pitches but it was a straight forward ball to deal with.
At the end of the day, he is still best option we have to partner CJ.

He's young and very much still learning his trade but he needs to get a grip, he's had a ropey few months now.

Through no fault of his own we didn't recruit properly in January so we need him and jullien more than ever to step up.

Thing is though he seen the awkward bounce and actually moved his body to attempt to clear it by head rather than just put it in row z

Stagnated this season but it’s easy to forget his age, he won’t be in his prime for another 7 or 8 years as a centre half.

Definitely not the time to give up on him.

He was at the heart of lots of good build up play yesterday. Yes, big blunder in the first half.

Do we want a dud like Boyata or Balde who are dominant in the air or a footballer that makes the odd mistake?

The Van Dijks (complete player) are difficult to find!

Hasn't even been a centre half for 5 seasons yet, so still has a lot of growing to do.

Do think he has had a decline in performances, needs a few things ironed out in his game. Don't think Julien is helping him as much as he should be being a 7 million quid centre back.

To be fair Ajer isn't helping Jullien much..

If he gets caught up the pitch after going on a run....he leaves Jullien exposed. He's appalling in the air which breeds an uncertainty at defending set pieces (although was Jullien yesterday)..

They should have a good partnership. One more dominant (Jullien) and the other the faster recovering type (Ajer).....but they don't dovetail too greatly, certainly no right now anyway..

I'd like both to keep it simple and get back to basics just for now. Then once we've ironed that out and the trust is back....the other stuff will follow..

Signing a CB and moving him forward as a potential brown replacement could work.

He has the turning circle of a double decker. I can't see how he could play DM/CM for any extended period for us. Teams would run all over us.

When Elhamed is back I wouldn't be against him in beside Jullien for a game or two..

Has outstanding pace and is solid as *..

I would've said the same about the Broony role if Soro hadn't been signed. With Frimpong at right back still..

It's just the injuries. I'm hoping massively that we can get the next few month's out of him injury free..

I wouldn't say he was any less mobile than Bitton who managed that position, he is definitely faster. Maybe him as a brown replacement was the wrong choice of words but I think he is capable of playin DM for us.

Wonder if he's struggling playing on the left side of the back 2 or 3
