Aye me too. I was a number 9 that got fed up having studs raked down my Achilles, receiving the ball with my back to the goal, so I reverted to what was a sweeper role in the day.

Long story short I loved it at the back and dished out the treatment that I got playing up top. In short I was a moaning faced * of a player to boot (pun intended)

Do you agree with his inaccurate "stats" and the context he used (including games when Griff was unavailable), for his criticism?

That's the point at play here and the reason for the outrage. Slate a player for their performance, no issues with that. But you are coming across as in favour of his critique last night man, which even neutrals are scratching their heads at.

Putting a corner into the back post is one of the best ways to get a goal and there should naturally always be someone there anyway , so you can understand the frustration or annoyance at the fact , although having one of our strikers take the corner is in its self a bit crazy .

 

We never, ever put anybody on the posts, attacking or defending them. It’s clear we send our biggest ariel threats up into the middle of the area to attack the face of the goal so sending a corner to the front or back post is pointless as *.

Griff is also our best bet at set pieces and hopeless in the air against big burly hatchet men defenders so it makes perfect sense.

 

He's actually in good form the last 2 years going back to 1st of January 2018 till now he's played 2012 minutes for us (22.35 full 90 minute games) and he has 13 goals and 5 assists in that time. 155 minutes per goal and 402 minutes per assits.

With that average if he'd played the same amount as Edouard this season he'd have 17 goals and 7 assists. Edouard has 18 goals and 13 assists but obviously Griffiths minutes have been spread over about 60 games and a lot of him coming back unfit so his stats will be lower than a fit Griffiths playing regular.
