I bought a few grand when FMcC sold them off in 98 or 99 I think it was. Got my certificate here in the house and used to get the annual report every year but since I moved away, I haven't updated my address so haven't got them in years. I would only have them for sentamentl reasons why I keep them..

Anybody know what's happening with this? Seems to be leveling off at £1.33.

I imagine we'll find out in the coming weeks and months. There is obviously something significant happening as we're generally seen as a rock solid investment for shareholders.

You don't just lose 18% of your worth in the space of a weeks without something of concern looming. What that is, is anyone's guess.

You underestimate how uninformed and panic driven the average investor is.

I've seen panic selling for the most ridiculous, speculative reasons.

Perhaps in a more volatile market but the bulk of our shares are held by major players. The odd person getting twitchy and selling off their small stake wouldn't cause a company like us to drop so significantly in value, in such a short time.

Personally I think there's some news afoot...

I'm doing it through my Halifax bank which has the option to sign up to share dealing account and getting it funded direct from own bank. Easy to do.

A lot of our shares, including the second biggest share holding behind DD, are held by equity firms now. One of them could be speculating that we aren't going to win the league this year, after the game on the 29th, and are pulling out. The only other thing I can think of that might cause a dip like that is news that Lawwell is stepping down has been leaked to investors.
All speculation on my part, I don't know anything that is going on behind the scenes.
