    There is literally zero chance that this is a coincidence and zero chance it was just a simple mechanical failure of the planes engines.

    Add me to the list of not believing it was a mechanical fault.

    The warning missiles fired in the direction of the USA bases feels like a diversion tactic for this.

    Boeing(American)can't afford for another one of their planes involved in a major accident. I read this 737 was only 3 years old. It wasn't the MAX model though.

    That video shows what to me is an explosion just before the larger explosion which I assume is the plane actually crashing.

    Given the events of the previous 24 hrs is this crash and terrible loss of life a mere coincidence or has something sinister happened?

    Hopefully we will find out and the families of the deceased manage to get some closure.

    The black box has been found by the Iranians, but they aren't going to allow anyone else access.

    When you're already under suspicion of shooting the plane down, getting all secretive only adds to the suspicion.

    I’d looked at it being an initial flash on impact followed by a fuel explosion as the tanks ruptured. Ie both being impact related rather than an ‘in-air’ explosion first?!?

    Difficult to say really because no context of the plane and the landscape but I have to say I still think it was an explosion followed by impact. Not suggesting the initial explosion was cause of crash, looks like plane was going down anyway.
