Been meaning to mention this for a while... today was a reminder.

Is anyone else totally embarrassed by our thrown in routines? They are absolutely pathetic. No movement, no decoy runs. We just surrender possession from them time and time again.

I’d love to see what the statistics are if anyone has them on possession retained from thrown ins.

We have to be one of the worst teams at throw ins. It does my nut in every game.

For years we had Tierney taking a minute for every throw in and Lustig foul throwing it every time.

Aye it’s a problem. Underrated part of the game.

Talked about that in the pub tonight.

Guy picks up the ball and looks out to 10 scarecrows. No movement, no runs, no attempts to confuse the opponent. *.

Yep. The lack of any movement has done my head in for years.

Mental that it’s so obvious to supporters but it appears nothing is being done in training to improve it.

    Been shockingly bad for ages!

Noticed it late on when Frimpong had no-one to throw it to. Had to resort to throwing it as far forward as he could and us losing possession.

Agreed. Been bugging me for as long as I can remember and I'll go as far to say our players were hiding behind the opposition today at throw in's - absolutely no one was game to take the ball or move to create space. Embarrassing from professional players.

Liverpool brought in a coach for it and the results are insane. Can't mind the guys name but he works with a couple of clubs.

Would make a huge difference in Europe when we're up against it.

Agreed. Our throw ins are embarrassing. I honestly thought Frimpong was going to get booked for timewasting at one point because he literally had no outlet.

Happened with Ajer towards the end as well when we should have been screaming for the ball. He ended up just throwing ball up in the air and hoping for the best..

Regular reader but dont often message but throw ins drive me crazy when we get one it almost always goes straight to the oppositin because we dont mark, when the opposition get one we dont mark and allow a free throw.

Throw ins and corners need addressing. We take far too long also, did notice Boli when he arrived that he liked to take quick throw ins.

Been talking about this for as long as I can remember, we are terrible and lose possession from throw ins all the time. When did it become obligatory for full backs to take throw ins? Sometimes a quick throw from the player nearest the ball would be a better option rather than wait for designated throw in player, who then gives the ball away.

Amazing too when you see ball-boys with nous who quickly get the ball to one of theirs ! Spurs goal in November came directly from a quick and smart throw from ball-boy to player., straight to Kane ( IIRC) Practice ground stuff we should be doing, but we look like don't have a clue sometimes.

Just realised their first goal came from a thrown in we had on the left hand side 5/10 yards from their byline.

Boli and Johnston got bullied and away they went.

We really need to do the basics better.

Boli was getting angry at the lack of movement and no one showing for it.

Just another symptom of bottling it/expecting to just turn up and win.
