That's why VAR shouldn't be in constant use.

Teams should have - in line with tennis - x amount of calls per game.

If they are mostly using it for offside they need to place about 100 cameras looking across the pitch all the way along so you get almost an exact clear straight view across. Putting lines at mad angles where they are just guessing is making wrong decision.

Pukki was 100% onside there, so was Firmino a few month ago.

Was Harry Kane not offside in the build up as well?

I'd say if he sent off that Norwich player then that goal wouldn't have happened as they'd have checked VAR and said that Kane was offside and rescinded the red and it would have been a freekick to Norwich.

Makes you woner why they don't go to VAR and say that shouldn't have been a freekick as Kane only won it as he was offside so disallow the goal?

The whole Spurs defence is pish, Sanchez is rotten and Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Rose who were all good 2/3 year ago have all went down hill and are past it.

Can see why Norwich are struggling they just don't have much luck rarely get a break of the ball spurs score from a free kick which looked like it was taken further over from where the handball happened and Kane buys a penalty

    VAR * it up again.

    Burnley v Aston Villa.

The reaction of the crowd telling a story.

Chelsea goal as well there @KRS-1888
VAR go for the check, ref blows the whistle while Azza is celebrating at corner flag and you see him turn and face drop as to think "the * is wrong". They then do the check, which you can feel the crowd murmuring about.

Goal was fine and awarded etc, but there is no need for VAR to be used so blatently or vigorously. Fine if every goal needs to be checked, but do it during the celebrations and team reorganising in the background. Absolutely no need to disrupt things.
IF there is an issue, a freekick can be given - otherwise the teams move on.

there is normally 30-60 seconds of celebrations etc, where replays of 3-5 angles can be watched before kick-off again. IF you can't tell if an infringement has happened, or it is offside, then it isn't clear and obvious and goal stands.

To stop teams from trying to do a quick kick-off again, even factor in a minimal 30seconds stoppage, where players can celebrate - if they choose not to then we wait the 30seconds at the centre circle and we all know why.

The english really are trying their damndest not to let VAR be a success it seems.

VAR is doing it all by the way it’s being used & its own shortcomings.

Why call it assistant when in fact it’s making the final decision? You might as well call the referee the VRA.

The way it's being used is by the English fa, and they are using it wrongly

It works in MLS and other leagues with less annoyance.

Naturally it needs time to be perfected, but down south seem to be using it to a minute level which it really shouldn't be.

Of course the technology is there to decipher at a frame by frame moment if a player if offside, but it really shouldn't be used to that degree - that's down to the English fa.
As far as I'm aware, in the MLS they are actually encouraged not to break it down to much - more that if you aren't able to decipher if a mistake was made within a few replays (and with it at natural speed as opposed to slowing it down too much) then they want to keep with the onfield decisions.

The English fa should perhaps ask Webb back over to help oversee it all, as he clearly has a better understanding of when and to what level it should be used.
