There was me led to believe it was us "progressive liberal lefties" that were the snowflakes as well.

 

Man congratulates vile Tory liar Boris Johnson. Man plays Sun City during apartheid. Man worships Enoch Powell and thinks immigrants should "go home" (where have we heard that before?).

And apparently Rod is a real Celtic man.

 

One of the things that brought my attention to Celtic when I was back in Brazil was actually the fact a lot of scottish musical acts are huge Celtic fans. In fact, since obviously, those people in arts tend to be more progressive and not fond of fundamentalist bigotry, it would be easier outing the glaswegian musicians who aren't Celtic fans.

I have no idea how, and why, this idea of Rod Stewart as a mascot of Celtic came from, because, before even taking his tory affiliations into account, he is a nearly dead has been and there has never been a shortage of famous people who support Celtic. It has always been pathetic, cringy, very few people have Rod Stewart as the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Scotland or Celtic. The guy has always used our team to get publicity showing up on the biggest of the biggest games and there is very little in his life to suggest he passionately cares about football at all.

That alone would make him not popular with fans. I always thought this silly bullshit of cameras focusing on Rod Stewart in cup finals as if he was anything important to Celtic stupid. Now there is at least a good reason to stop this *. Nobody voted him as a club ambassador and nobody hired him as a club spokesperson.

 

No issue with the message, although I do feel the same message could’ve been conveyed with more impactful and clever wording.

One thing I will say which is very much off message, and nothing to do with the GB or Celtic really. If the left in the UK want to revitalise and eventually get back into government, they’re going to need to do better than name calling anyone that doesn’t agree with them. I say that as someone who has never voted Tory. I hope they can, because I would love to see a left of centre government in the future, but it seems further away than it has ever been right now.

Or he's a Celtic supporter that happens to be famous and doesn't hide his allegiance. The guy wants to go to Celtic games, * all wrong with that, the fact cameras focus in on him at games is nothing to do with him.

Rod Stewart does not need Celtic football club to get publicity FFS.

If yer that annoyed over a banner have a look at yourself.

 

Why should we soft soap them? They reject truth and reason out of hand, so the only other options are appeasement, or hostility.

 

Not annoyed by the banner although the * rod bit was unnecessary.

What bothers me is this whole if your no a socialist that sings the red flag every night before you go to bed you cannae be a true Celtic fan which is utter bullshit.
