Not really true. we didnt get him because Motherwell wouldnt budge on the fee that was initially agreed before Turnbulls knee issue was detected at the medical.

We attempted to renegotiate but Motherwell wanted the same amount for a player who would effectively miss half a season of football.
Its why we are expected to come back with a bid in January, as his recovery has been going to plan.

No we didn’t buy him because Motherwell wouldn’t sell. Celtic wanted to buy him at a cutdown price “ with” the injury and manage him with our medical staff. Nobody has actually said what the injury was only that he had preventative surgery therefore I’d expect him to be back as strong as ever

Box to box, more forward thinking midfielder than defensive good shot on him too I'm not sure hes any better than Henderson

I definitely think we need(as well as a striker) a defensive midfielder.

We have enough options in a more advanced role, - at the moment though we are/have been playing Brown and McGregor in every single game.

We need another first choice type, to rotate, or an option, especially away from home in Europe, or with the qualifiers in mind in the summer.

I thought the young German midfielder(ex Bayern) sounded ideal. We could drip feed him into the team.

Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull is still at least two months away from returning from the knee injury that curtailed his transfer to Celtic. (Daily Record)

Don’t see the need for this guy now, especially if he’s still not recovered from his injury

We might still go for him in January and loan him out.

No point in even looking at this transfer until he is fully fit again, it just shows you how bad his injury was and the fact he is still not back in action.

there is now way he is worth 3 million quid until he can prove he is back what he done last season.

I can't see a clear role for him in this team. If he was CDM then maybe but we are blessed with a load of attack minded midfielders. Tbh if we signed him last summer he would prob have less than a dozen appearances by now and most from the bench.

Think a lot of this pressure to sign Turnbull was due to missing out on McGinn. Seems to be a good player, but we can't let different, previous mistakes influence unrelated, future scenarios. Totally agree that we need to see him at the same levels as last year before we attempt to sign him again.

Wait and see how he gets on when he returns. Should be aiming higher I think.

Agreed. It would be pointless to move for him in January if he is still not fit yet.

Must be gutting is understatement. Really feel for the lad but if he is hungry and has it then he will wear the hoops.

Don't need to see him at the same level but needs to show he can go and has the possibility of doing it. His 2nd half of the season will be getting back to form and fighting back into a team have done not to bad this season.
