    Just checked and Ronaldo has scored 173 goals since April 2016 which means averaging slightly over 40 goals a season in last 4 seasons.

    If he does that for next season and scores a few more this season then he will just ahead of Romario into 2nd place

    Here is his and Messi's goal average per competitive top division competitive and non friendly club and international matches.

    Ronaldo: Played 932 Scored 732 Average goals per game = 0.75
    Messi: Played 837 Scored 677 Average goals per game = 0.81

    Re checked the totals and changed the list.
    Only counted the top division and non friendly club and country matches.
    Will update list later for the players from 10th place down to 30th.

    Ronaldo is now in 3rd place and Messi in 5th place

    Assuming they play for the same amount of seasons, I don't see why both won't be 1st and 2nd in all time scorers and it will be very close to who is top or not.

    58 goals in it between the pair of them, 2 seasons for Messi to make that up with 29goals a season...will be interesting

    Messi will comfortably overtake him if they play the same amount of games. I suspect Ronaldo will go on for longer though.

    Messi also needs out of the festering shitehole that the clubs previous custodians have left at Barca in a few weeks time.

    With Barca being my so called second team, I really don't want to see him leave (unless to come to Celtic where naturally * score 1000 goals for sure ha).
    But he does look like he is more fed up with the game than Ronaldo is, Ronaldo looks like he will go another 3 years, as could Messi, but that's 2 years shorter.

    Just seen this post from April 2016 whilst updating thread. He has scored 204 goals since then so averaging approx 50 goals a season since then and is only 8 goals away from beating Pele and is 60 goals ahead of Messi
