I thought it was quite boring and *, the actors ruined the film before you got into it I think. They looked like they were obviously wearing make-up and fake tan or something with dyed hair yet were supposed old guys in the 1950s or something, something about them just looked cartoonish and unnatural that made it difficult to pick up what time period it was supposed to be in. Then the bit De Niro was meant to be assaulting the guy in the shop the guy should have kicked his * in if what we seen was accurate De Niro was moving like a * robot the scene was terrible him kicking him in slow motion. I think in the majority of the film they were supposed to be playing guys aged 50-60 but none of them looked a day under 75.

Joe Pesci I thought came across more natural and better than De Niro and Pacino although looked too old as well. For me De Niro and Pacino are poor actors now and it seemed worse that they looked out of place on top of that. Joe Pesci you could actually believe was a real old guy like that as he still seemed sharp and energetic even though he looked about 75 but De Niro and Pacino looked like old pensioners who were trying to seem younger.

It should have been made with other actors though really, the story could have been ok but to me it was like a Pantomime.

Didn’t think it was boring or * but agree with most of your other points.
The characters either look old or really old depending on the time frame but I’m assuming they were supposed to be in their 30s when they first met.

Loved it. As someone who grew up idolising these guys and gangster movies in particular I thought it was a symbolic ending.

    The end of an era.

Just finished it for the second time. So * good. I don’t know how some people aren’t enjoying that.

Feels like that is the end of an era, can’t see there being another film of that ilk by Scorsese involving De Niro et al. :(

I might actually watch again tomorrow. Although I got the general story and followed it fine, like all gangster epics there are so many characters and side storylines that it will take a couple of watches to fully appreciate it.

Pesci is an absolute shoe in for best supporting actor Oscar. Incredible performance.

I admire your Celtic stats at times mate but that is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.

    Those actors don't ruin movies.

Stick to telling us the windspeed and flight path of the teams charter plane because your movie critiquing is utter dogshit :giggle1:

I knew there was a book but I had never read it so went into it not really knowing the story.

This is as much a symbolic movie where an aging director got together all my favourite actors and brought it all to a close.

For me the movie was just a backdrop to finally closing the lid on some of the greatest actors of our generation.

I think you probably do need to have been invested in these actors to fully appreciate what happens as the movie progresses.

Probably wouldn't crack my top 5 gangster movies but it's so much more than that.

    Finally watched it last night.

Felt brilliant at the start watching my favourite actor of all time, Bobby D, back in action with Pesci and Pacino joining in.

Thought at first the de-aging thing was brilliant, still did at the end of the film, but the notion wore off about half way through it when you could see that the actors' bodily movements (for example when they were supposed to be in their 30's, you could tell they were well near their 80's), but bravo for effort from the CGI team.

Scorsese really did a good job, but let's be honest the film itself (despite the nostalgia of the Goodfellas/Casino-esque feel to it), was a boring encounter led by 3 weary stars. Rehashed story (although told well) was nothing new, and left me......well, bored after about an hour and a half.

For me, Pesci stole the show. Could see he was really trying to maintain the cold, calculated manner of Buffalino. De Niro just looked like his batteries were about to run out, even when he was (barely) kicking * out of the * in the grocery shop, he just reminded me of the wee old man from "Up" with a bit of Just For Men stuck on (don't get me started on those weird as * blue eyes of his). Pacino looked like he was trying to capture his inner Nicolas Cage style of overacting, but even he looked like one of his famous "hoooowaaaaaa" outbursts would have made him soil his own pants due to incontinence.

Overall good effort by Scorsese, and was great to see all that cast together on screen again, but.....nah, wouldn't watch it again. Shame like cause you'll probably find one of these three snuffs it soon.

    Score? Probably give it a 5 or a 6 out of 10.

Settle doon mate, Pesci was the best out of the 3 in the film, but his performance was hardly anything of that ilk.

Yup this ruined it for me aswell, they are all far too old now it should’ve went to younger actors imo. Yes Scorcese wanted to get the old crew back together but it was way off.
