You are thinking purely as a fan....
    They think as shareholders first...

If Europa League was the main money source it would be the priority..

Im glad to hear that they take TIAR as seriously as the supporters but the cynic in me says it’s only because it’s the ‘bread and butter’ source of generating money anyway.

Not in our interests. Pile of mealy mouthed *.

I think the real reason our board want this to go away is that they are up to their necks in it themselves.

The majority will win the vote and hope it’s a dead duck..

I suspect that by allowing it .. ie the res12 ers getting it raised at the AGM and a vote taken.... that this will be the end of it as far as the club goes. Some sort of private fan raised action would be the only remaining option.... doubtful after this length of time.

There’s been (and still is ) too much money being made from NOT taking action on this that it’s simply not in their (shareholders) interests to do anything now or ever.

.... that and a few unpleasant truths that would come out in the wash.

I was meaning as far as squad prep goes if we fund the squad to be good enough to make European football after Christmas they should be good enough to win the league

When they feel to provide a reasonable explanation for not pursuing it despite repeated requests, it's the only assumption you can arrive at.

    They need chased.

"Next question is about director's pay packets. Says Lawwell earned 3.5m in total, and asks how many goals he scored last season to deserve it (fs :celtman2:) Says there has been a bizarre 600 percent increase in salary since he was appointed.

"Bankier responds by defending Lawwell, saying he's been reelected almost unanimously. Says board buys value for money, and says that he has no hesitation in saying he is worth every penny that Celtic pay him."

    ---------------

    Teflon.

Peter is worth "every penny" of his salary that has increased by 600% in 16 years but the hundreds of staff who worked for a club with championed charitable roots were not deemed worth "every penny" of a living wage

Basically the Huns were awarded a UEFA license the year before they went bust despite owing money to tax authorities, which usually prevents the license being awarded. Evidence of that has since been made public, specifically the Craig Whyte trial. This license shouldn't have been awarded and hence Celtic should have been entered into the CL that year (2011/12).

Really the board should have then, and moreso now, called out the SFA on either complying with the Huns to cover up their debts, or for not doing their job properly, or both.

That's the limit of my knowledge on it tbh, and not sure it's even that accurate :56:

Absolutely disgusting, we can’t pay top dollar for the product on park but Lawwell is worth every penny. :42:

If the shoe was on the other foot the zombie board would have taken action through the courts and maybe even the European courts and also contacted uefa about it .
They would have thrown the kitchen sink at Celtic if it was us in the wrong and the Celtic board are a bunch of spinless * and a good few need to be shown the door and this what happens when you have Tory's on the board not real Celtic supporters .

These things always just end up making me hate the board more.

Constant reminders that they chase only money, for their own pay packet and for the shareholders.

It doesn't have to be just about making money, we can still make money and invest a bit more in the playing squad to take us back up a level.

European football is where we are properly judged, against the European clubs who aspire to do well. Not against Aberdeen, hibs or st mirren.

16 years lawwell has been here, 16 years is a long long time for the one man to remain too comfortable in that position. Not even going to discuss how good or bad he is, simply out, a business needs a fresh approach more often than we get. His time has well and truly gone.

At next AGM they should have Res 12 discussed and then hold the vote on who will be on the board.
If they think their intransigence about Res 12 will get them booted from the board they will soon come around to what a lot of Celtic supporters want them to do.
